
The program is part of a series of events organized by the city to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The 3D Mapping film "The Story of Da Nang" uses specialized equipment to project light directly onto the surface of the building at 42 Bach Dang Street, combined with sound to create a 3D Mapping effect.
This is the first time this technology has been showcased outdoors in Da Nang City, combining sound, light, and vivid visual effects to recreate the historical and cultural story and the aspiration for continuous development of Da Nang.
During the three screening days (April 29th - May 1st), there will be two screenings each evening at 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM and 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM.

"The Story of Da Nang" consists of three consecutive parts, introducing the history of the formation and development of Da Nang City throughout different historical periods.
Part 1 - "The Origins of Da Nang" recreates the process of land formation, its inhabitants, and the historical development from the prehistoric and early historical periods to the ancient and medieval periods, closely associated with ancient kingdoms, especially the imprint of Sa Huynh, Champa, and Dai Viet cultures.
Part 2 - "The Epic of Struggle" recreates the protracted struggle of the army and people of Da Nang against Western colonialism led by France (1858 - 1954) and the resistance war against the US (1954 - 1975); it also recreates the process of formation and development of Da Nang city.
Part 3 - "Rising Up" recreates the construction and development of Da Nang City after the liberation on March 29, 1975, the milestones and achievements when it became a centrally-governed city in 1997, and especially the period when the city transformed in the era of integration and development, becoming one of the leading economic , cultural, and social centers of the country.
