The delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Command, led by Colonel Nguyen Dinh Chuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, has implemented many practical and humane activities in Thanh An island commune with a total budget of over 1 billion VND, including donating 50 gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and those who have contributed to the Revolution; providing eye examinations, consultations, and treatment for local people; donating 60 cataract treatment packages and 20 myopia surgery packages worth 900 million VND; donating electric vehicles to serve transportation needs and contribute to local economic development in an environmentally friendly direction; and awarding 20 scholarships under the "Accompanying Students in Thanh An Commune" program and to poor but studious students in the "Helping Children Go to School - Children Adopted by Border Guard Posts" model.

According to Colonel Nguyen Dinh Chuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, the public relations activities celebrating National Day were organized in Thanh An island commune, considered a "frontline shield" protecting the sea route and the gateway to major ports of the city. These activities aim to strengthen the solidarity between the military and the people, and consolidate the people's trust in the Party and the State. At the same time, the activities demonstrate the policy of showing gratitude, caring for social welfare, and disseminating legal information to the people of the island region, contributing to socio-economic development and building an increasingly solid foundation of public support in line with the task of protecting maritime sovereignty and islands.

Previously, as part of the activities celebrating the 51st anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, from April 18-23, in the Con Dao Special Zone, a delegation from the Women's Association of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, led by Major General Vu Van Dien, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, organized many meaningful and practical activities such as: organizing a "Breakfast of Solidarity between Military and Civilians" program for about 500 people; awarding 30 scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties, 100 charitable gifts, and 20 free eye surgeries for people in the Con Dao Special Zone with difficult circumstances.

The mass mobilization programs organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Command in the island localities of the city not only practically support essential resources for the people on the islands but also demonstrate the joint efforts and solidarity of the entire political system of the city in striving to improve the quality of life for the people in the frontline island areas, contributing to consolidating the great national unity, further strengthening the close bond between the military and the people, and protecting national sovereignty from early on and from afar.
