Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Dao Minh Tu, presented the decision to appoint Mr. Phan Dinh Dien as Chairman of the Board of Directors of SCB.
On September 22nd, in Ho Chi Minh City, the State Bank of Vietnam held a ceremony to announce the Decision on personnel participating in the Board of Directors of Saigon Commercial Bank (SCB).
According to the State Bank of Vietnam, after more than a year of being placed under special supervision, SCB has actively coordinated with relevant functional units of ministries, sectors, and agencies of Ho Chi Minh City to implement solutions in accordance with the law to ensure the safety of the banking system and protect the rights and interests of depositors.
To date, SCB's operations are gradually stabilizing, addressing difficulties and obstacles step by step, and focusing on developing a restructuring plan.
After reviewing and evaluating the capabilities of the staff, the State Bank of Vietnam has decided to reassign and appoint Mr. Phan Dinh Dien from his position as a member of the Board of Directors of Agribank to take on the new role of Chairman of the Board of Directors of SCB, replacing Mr. Vu Anh Duc, effective September 22nd.
At the same time, Mr. Vu Anh Duc was assigned by the State Bank of Vietnam to take on an important position at VietinBank .
With extensive experience in the banking industry for nearly 30 years, Mr. Phan Dinh Dien has held leadership positions ranging from department head and branch manager to member of the Board of Directors of Agribank.
Throughout this period, Mr. Phan Dinh Dien consistently maintained a firm ideological stance, possessed strong political and moral qualities, demonstrated a strong sense of organizational discipline, high responsibility, and always successfully completed assigned tasks. He also possessed strong management and leadership capabilities, and, in particular, extensive experience in debt resolution.
