Sharing the drops of blood

Voluntary blood donation is a good, silent and noble deed, adding to the tradition of solidarity and humanity of the nation. The voluntary blood donation movement in the province has spread strongly with many classes participating in the spirit of "each drop of blood given, a life remains".

Responding to the voluntary blood donation movement, recently the Provincial Red Cross Society, the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation and Hanoi Law University - Branch in Dak Lak province jointly organized the 2025 voluntary blood donation program with the theme "One drop of blood - a million hearts entering a new era".

From 6am, after finishing the exercise session with more than 5km of jogging, Mr. Le Vinh Long, 50 years old, Buon Ma Thuot ward was present at the campus of Hanoi Law University - Branch in Dak Lak province to register to participate in HMTN.

After donating 350 ml of blood, Mr. Long shared: “This is the first time I have donated blood. I find this activity very meaningful. I have planned to participate many times but have not been able to due to work. When I heard about this voluntary blood donation, I and some of my brothers in the running club signed up to participate. When I share drops of blood to save patients, I feel so happy because what I do can bring life to someone.”

Mr. Le Vinh Long participated in voluntary blood donation for the first time.

Mr. Doan Hai Cong, 35 years old in Buon Ma Thuot ward, after finishing a 12km run, also came to donate blood. “This is the third time I have donated blood in 2025. Every time I donate blood, I feel happy and joyful to be able to contribute a small part to help others. This is an extremely meaningful and practical action, helping me realize that life is to share and spread love" - ​​Mr. Cong confided.

Not only Mr. Long and Mr. Cong, currently there are many people of all ages and occupations who share the noble act of sharing their blood with the wish that "each drop of blood given, a life remains".

Since the end of 2024, the "Red Drops of Charity" Club of Hanoi Law University - Dak Lak Branch was established by union members, youth and students in the school with the desire to promote the voluntary blood donation movement, and at the same time, gather information about blood donors in the province so that when patients need blood, especially rare blood types and live blood, it will be provided immediately.

The head of the "Red Drops of Charity" Club, To Viet Vinh, said: "Currently, the club has 11 key members and has mobilized nearly 170 people to participate in the Blood Donation Campaign. Since its establishment, this is the second time the club has organized a Blood Donation Campaign. Every time there is a voluntary blood donation campaign, the Board of Directors will inform the general Zalo group so that members know and arrange their time to participate. This time, more than 600 union members, youth, and people participated, collecting more than 400 units of blood."

During blood donations, members with rare blood are always given priority. Mr. To Duy Kham (born in 1988), a lecturer and member of the "Giọt hồng nhân lý" Club, has the rare blood type A Rh- and shared: "I have participated in blood donations many times, but mainly donate blood directly when hospitals need it to save people. The most memorable blood donation was to save a pregnant woman. That surgery required 5 units of blood, and I and 2 other friends promptly donated blood to successfully save that pregnant woman... I am very happy because I contributed to saving people."

Chief of Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Nguyen Duc Phu said that since the beginning of the year, the whole province has organized more than 90 voluntary blood donation campaigns.

Particularly, the club of Hanoi Law University - Branch in Dak Lak province responded to this movement for the second time this year. After the merger of the province, the Steering Committee hopes to spread this movement to many classes of people in the province. In 2026, the province will continue to effectively organize major campaigns in 2026 such as: "Red Sunday", "Pink Spring Festival", "Pink Summer Blood Campaign", "Red Journey" ...

At the same time, promote propaganda about voluntary blood donation and human organ and tissue donation in many diverse forms, contributing to raising awareness and knowledge of all classes of people, especially people in remote, rural areas, and ethnic minority areas about voluntary blood donation, blood transfusion safety and human organ and tissue donation.
