There will be a second Tu Du Hospital in Can Gio.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , representatives from Tu Du Hospital and several other hospitals conducted a survey and working session at the Can Gio District Health Center to proceed with the steps for establishing the second facility of Tu Du Hospital.

This information was provided by a representative of Tu Du Hospital on March 12th. Prior to that, on March 10th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requesting consideration and approval for the establishment of a second facility of Tu Du Hospital in Can Gio District, following a multi-specialty hospital model, including departments such as: Internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, emergency resuscitation, anesthesia and resuscitation, dentistry, ENT, and orthopedics…

According to the implementation of Decision No. 1564/QD-UBND of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on the Project "Strengthening, improving capacity and developing healthcare in Can Gio district until 2030, with a vision to 2045", one of the important contents is the re-establishment of Can Gio District General Hospital to help people in the area easily access medical examination and treatment services.

The second facility of Tu Du Hospital will operate as a general hospital.

Tu Du Hospital is a leading specialized hospital in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, assigned by the Ministry of Health to provide guidance and support to provinces and cities in the Central and Southern regions of Vietnam. The hospital is a public service unit, self-financing its operating and investment expenditures according to Decision No. 3502/QD-UBND.

With its capacity for directing and transferring technology, Tu Du Hospital is fully qualified to establish a second facility, meeting the healthcare needs of the people of Can Gio district as well as tourists when the Can Gio international transshipment port project is implemented.

The second facility of Tu Du Hospital will operate as a general hospital, with Tu Du Hospital as the investor and the main entity responsible for implementing medical examination and treatment activities, in coordination with eight leading general and specialized hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City. Regarding investment costs, the project will utilize Tu Du Hospital's own funds.
