Strengthening discipline through the role of Party committees.

To build a modern and honest urban government, the Long Xuyen Ward Party Committee is stepping up efforts to prevent and combat corruption and waste, considering this a key task in Party building.

According to Lam Quang Thi, Secretary of the Long Xuyen Ward Party Committee, the ward always prioritizes the dissemination of legal information; emphasizing the role and responsibility of the Party committee, especially the exemplary role of the leaders. Party committees, government agencies, the Fatherland Front, and political and social organizations implement solutions to prevent, combat, and suppress corruption, waste, and negative practices from within, thereby contributing to improving the effectiveness of Party building and rectification, and strengthening the people's trust.

During the 2020-2025 term, the Ward Party Committee issued 60 leadership and guidance documents and 18 instruction documents, focusing on key areas such as: implementing democratic regulations and working procedures; receiving citizens; resolving complaints, denunciations, feedback, and suggestions; declaring and controlling assets and income; and conducting inspections, supervision, and monitoring public opinion. The Ward People's Committee concretized these policies into annual work plans; organized more than 320 conferences and thematic activities, attracting over 7,500 cadres, Party members, civil servants, and public employees.

"Deep understanding – correct action" brings the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress into life.In order to quickly put the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party into practice, on February 7th, the Politburo and the Secretariat organized a national conference to study, understand, and implement the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party in a hybrid format combining in-person and online participation.

Simultaneously, the ward focuses on implementing solutions to enhance openness and transparency in public service activities. The electronic office system and online public services are operating effectively; administrative documents and files are digitized and processed electronically, helping to shorten processing time, limit direct contact, and thereby prevent corruption and harassment.

At the "one-stop" service center, the ward has installed a surveillance camera system, publicly displayed the hotlines of the Party Secretary and the Chairman of the People's Committee, and arranged suggestion boxes, creating conditions for the people to participate in monitoring the spirit and attitude of officials and civil servants. The electronic information portal and the Intelligent Operations Center (IOC) have proven effective in publicly disclosing information, receiving and processing feedback and suggestions from the people in a timely and transparent manner.

According to Vo Thanh Son, Deputy Director of the Long Xuyen Ward Public Administrative Service Center, “The unit has issued internal spending regulations, regulations on the management and use of public assets, and a plan for inspecting public services; and has publicly disclosed financial information to meetings of officials, civil servants, and the people through various means. This transparency has contributed to improving the efficiency of administration and strengthening administrative discipline and order.” Based on practical experience, Mr. Doan Van Day, a legal specialist, believes that the ward leadership's authorization of the Deputy Director of the Public Administrative Service Center to sign authentication documents is an effective solution, reducing waiting times, ensuring quick processing, and creating satisfaction for the people. Many citizens also expressed their delight when carrying out administrative procedures at the ward because the process is clear, transparent, and convenient.

According to Mr. Lam Quang Thi, in the period 2025-2030, the Party Committee of the ward will continue to strengthen the leadership of the Party committee and the effectiveness of the government's administration in the fight against corruption and negative practices; promote the exemplary role of cadres and Party members, especially leading and managerial cadres. At the same time, it will innovate the content and methods of legal propaganda in a practical direction; accelerate administrative reform associated with digital transformation; enhance transparency, accountability, and responsibility in public service activities; promote the supervisory and social critique role of the Fatherland Front and other political and social organizations; and promptly commend individuals who dare to fight for the integrity of the organization and the common interests of the people.

During the period 2021-2025, Long Xuyen ward conducted 5 inspections and supervisions on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative practices. Agencies and units conducted 72 internal inspections; through these inspections and supervisions, 6 Party members were found to have violated regulations on corruption in the performance of their duties, with disciplinary action including a warning for 5 Party members and a reprimand for 1 Party member. During the term, no petitions, complaints, or denunciations related to corruption, waste, or negative practices were received.
