Following criticism that this year's The Face has lost its quality and that the singing and dancing performances lack professionalism, supermodel Anh Thư has spoken out.
She responded, "It's easy to just sit at home and act like a 'judge.' If you only look at a few minutes of a contestant's talent and conclude that The Face is Got Talent, that's a shame, because you're looking at an attitude test and mistaking it for a talent competition. That's not a mandatory part of the competition. It's an opportunity for contestants to proactively ask for more time to convince the judges. And we always agree, because we don't want to miss anyone just because of the first few minutes."

According to Anh Thu, the fact that contestants asked for a few extra minutes to showcase their talents made the casting session much longer. However, the judges were still willing to sit down, listen, and give them another chance. The judging panel took the extra time to get to know each contestant.
"Some people only spend a few seconds judging whether an entire show is too rushed. I apologize if this offends the audience, but we 'fear missing out on a talent'," Anh Thư shared.
Recently, The Face held two casting sessions in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi , sparking much debate. The castings featured many popular social media personalities such as Mai Huong, To Dat Ky, Emma Nhat Khanh, and Thu Thor… Many contestants showcased their singing and dancing talents during the casting rounds, leading viewers to believe the show this year has lost its unique character and resembled a talent competition. Even Thu Thor, who is only 1.49m tall, received approval from all four judges.
The Face is a reality show that officially aired in 2013. Through this program, the judges find the face to represent various brands. This year, the powerful quartet consists of Do Manh Cuong, Anh Thu, Vo Hoang Yen, and H'Hen Nie.
