The exhibition brings together more than 70 photographs and photo series celebrating historical and cultural values, past and present, and the development of the land and people of Ho Chi Minh City and the country after 50 years of peaceful reunification.
Many works recreate the scenery, architecture, cultural and artistic beauty, local life, and the developed urban life of Ho Chi Minh City – a civilized, modern, and compassionate city. The photo series "Underground Tunnels" recreates the Cu Chi area, a "steel fortress" during wartime and peacetime; the photo series "Veterans revisiting the historical site of the Independence Palace in 2025"...

Impressive exhibits at the exhibition include a photo series of teachers and students at Truong Sa Primary School, inaugurated in 2012; a photo series of traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai dresses taken at schools and parks; and a photo series of studious children today, representing the hope of the country's future tomorrow…
In particular, there are many photos capturing the joyful, happy, and vibrant atmosphere of people and young people in various areas and locations of the city these days, brightly displaying red flags with yellow stars to celebrate the anniversary of the historic Great Victory of Spring 1975 and the 50th anniversary of national reunification (1975-2025).

Ms. Vu Minh Nghia (alias Chinh Nghia, 78 years old) - a female Saigon Commando soldier and a historical witness to the Tet Offensive of 1968 and the great Ho Chi Minh Campaign of Spring 1975 - who was present at the exhibition, said that she was truly moved and impressed by the photographs at the "Connecting" exhibition, taken by students. Through these photographs, she tells the story of the connection between the past and the present using familiar, emotional visual language, from the perspective of today's generation.
“Each photograph carries within it historical depth, recalling memorable milestones of the nation – from the war years to the present day, to the country's more than 50 years of peaceful development. The images skillfully convey historical messages through a youthful, creative perspective, yet still full of respect and gratitude. I believe that with this spirit, young students will continue to spread these positive values to the community and society,” Ms. Vu Minh Nghia expressed.
According to MSc. Pham Duc Minh, lecturer in Media Photography, the exhibition is the result of the learning of first-year students in the Media Photography class - a very new subject that has just been introduced into the Multimedia Communication training program of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication at VOV School from the 2024-2025 academic year.
