Soc Trang exploits more sand mines to serve the highway

MS12 sand mine in An Lac Tay commune of Ke Sach district, is exploited to serve the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project phase 1, passing through Soc Trang province. The sand mining method at MS12 mine is open-pit, the total amount of money for granting mineral exploitation rights is over 4.2 billion VND.

MS12 sand mine has an area of ​​over 60 hectares, the total reserve of sand for filling that can be exploited in 14 months is 628,003 m3. Of which, the exploitation capacity from January to July is 78,000 m3/month, equivalent to 3,000 m3/day. From August to 13, the exploitation capacity is 12,000 m3/month, equivalent to 462 m3/day and in the 14th month, the exploitation capacity is 10,003 m3/month, equivalent to 385 m3/day.

Mr. Ngo Thai Chan - Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Soc Trang province, said: MS12 mine has a large and beautiful sand reserve. In addition to this mine, contractors implementing the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway are also exploiting river sand stably at mines MS01, MS03 and preparing to exploit mine MS04. For the Can Tho - Ca Mau vertical expressway project, the contractor has been granted the right to exploit mines B1.2 and B1.2 by the competent authorities of Soc Trang province. Of which, mine B1.1 is being exploited stably.

The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project is over 188 km long, with a total investment of nearly 44,700 billion VND. This project starts at National Highway 91 in Chau Doc City (An Giang), and ends at Tran De Port in Soc Trang Province. Of which, the section through Soc Trang Province is about 56 km long.
