Banking transactions are booming.

- Following the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026, banks in the province resumed operations from February 23rd. During the first working days of the new year, the atmosphere at the banks was vibrant with many promotional programs and offers being implemented simultaneously.

According to observations by reporters at several commercial banks in the province, from early morning on February 23rd (the 7th day of the first lunar month), a large number of customers came to conduct transactions. These customers mainly came to deposit savings with the belief that it would bring "good luck at the beginning of the year." Some customers came to transfer money into their accounts… Transaction activities were urgent and bustling.

On its opening day, the Vietnam Investment and Development Bank (BIDV) Lang Son branch was bustling with activity. Ms. Tran Thi Kieu Anh, Head of the Individual Customer Department, stated: "From early morning, BIDV Lang Son welcomed a large number of customers. Most customers were making savings deposits and depositing money into their accounts. On the first day of operation after the Tet holiday, over 1,000 customers visited the bank for transactions (excluding electronic transactions). In addition, the branch launched a savings program called 'Bringing in the Power of Luck, Welcoming Good Fortune' for customers depositing 100 million VND or more at the counter or online to attract more customers."

The Vietnam Agricultural and Rural Development Bank, Lang Son Branch ( Agribank Lang Son), also implemented many promotional programs to attract customers to transact at the beginning of the new year. Ms. Dinh Thi Hong Giang, Deputy Director of Agribank Lang Son, said: To meet the transaction needs of customers in the first days of the year, 100% of Agribank Lang Son's branches and transaction offices have increased their staff and made thorough preparations with promotional programs, lucky money, and gifts for the new year. These promotions are not only applied to customers depositing savings but also extend to customers who come to transact, open accounts with attractive numbers, and borrow capital... In addition to attractive gifts, customers depositing money also benefit from additional interest rates at the bank. On the first day of the new year, the number of customers visiting the bank reached over 1,000.

Along with the two aforementioned banks, many other commercial banks in the province have also simultaneously launched promotional programs to attract customers. These programs are diverse, including giving out lucky money, lucky draws, increasing interest rates, and adding interest to deposits… As a result, the number of customers conducting transactions at the beginning of the year has increased significantly.

While making a savings deposit at BIDV Lang Son, Mr. Bui Van Ben, from Dai Thang block, Luong Van Tri ward, shared: "With the desire for good luck, wealth, and prosperity throughout the year, my family almost always sets aside a sum to deposit in a bank savings account at the beginning of the year. On the morning of February 23rd, when I came to deposit savings at BIDV Lang Son, I saw a large number of customers, but the bank staff proactively assisted, so all procedures were completed quite quickly and conveniently."

During this period, along with customers depositing savings and recognizing the need for loans to restart production and business activities after Tet, banks have proactively prepared abundant capital, simplified procedures, implemented credit packages with preferential interest rates, shortened disbursement times, and created the most favorable conditions for individual and corporate customers.

Entering 2026, the provincial banking sector strives to achieve credit growth of 12% or more to provide safe and effective credit capital, prioritizing production and business in sectors that drive the province's growth. To achieve this goal, the State Bank of Vietnam Region 5 has directed credit institutions to continue implementing credit policies according to sectors and fields linked to the province's growth drivers; focus lending capital on production and business sectors and priority areas; promote digital transformation in banking operations; and continue implementing safe and secure solutions for online payments and bank card payments.

The vibrant trading atmosphere in the early days of spring is a positive sign for a prosperous new year for banks in the area. With proactive, flexible approaches and a commitment to supporting the people and businesses, banks in the province expect that the flow of credit will be strongly stimulated, creating momentum to promote sustainable socio-economic development in the locality in the Year of the Horse 2026.
