The organizers stated that the festival not only contributes to promoting cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy but also serves as a bridge to implement cooperation promotion activities in many fields: education, fisheries, trade, import and export, etc., between the two countries.
The Vietnam-Korea Festival was held in 2015 and 2016, then postponed for various reasons. In 2022, marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea, the festival was reorganized by Da Nang City and became an annual diplomatic event. The festival receives considerable attention from the city's residents and foreign tourists, especially Korean visitors, with approximately 25,000 participants in the 2023 festival season.
