This is Mattia Nalin's third visit to Da Nang to participate in the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF). Each year, he is amazed by the city's development. For him, each return visit reveals more progress. What leaves the most positive impression on Mattia Nalin is the friendliness and hospitality of the local people.
Sharing the same sentiment, Robert Cameron Fairbanks, representative of the Australian fireworks team, said this was his second time visiting Da Nang. After nearly a week in the city, he and his team members spent time visiting many places, exploring local life, and enjoying the characteristic dishes. “For me, everything in Da Nang is wonderful, from the friendly people and modern infrastructure to the vibrant festive atmosphere; everything has left a deep impression. I truly love this place,” he said.
Visiting Da Nang for the first time to attend DIFF 2026, Mr. Patrick Thomas Reuter, captain of the German fireworks team, highly appreciated the professional organization of the festival. He was particularly impressed with the experiences of exploring some places, trying local food, and strolling through the streets. After this trip, Mr. Patrick hopes to have the opportunity to return to Da Nang in the future because there are still many interesting things he hasn't had the chance to discover yet.
Meanwhile, Andre Macedo, captain of the Portuguese fireworks team, said that from his first visit to Da Nang to participate in DIFF 2025, Da Nang left a very positive impression on him and quickly became one of his favorite destinations. According to him, Da Nang stands out for its innovative spirit, respect for others, and attractive natural landscapes. For those passionate about travel and exploration, it is a destination worth experiencing.
For many international teams, DIFF is an opportunity to learn more about the host city and bring stories from Da Nang back home. During their stay in the city, local cuisine was an experience frequently mentioned by many team members.

And these experiences contribute to creating the image of Da Nang as dynamic, modern, yet still intimate and rich in cultural identity. Mr. Ye Zhi Chao, technical manager of the Macao team (China), was particularly impressed with the enthusiasm of the local people and support staff. “During the construction and preparation for the competition, the team members received a lot of support from the local people. That made us feel very warm,” he shared.
DIFF is playing a crucial role in elevating Da Nang's image on the international event map. Mr. Naganuma Keisuke, from the Japanese fireworks team, believes that DIFF is not just a professional competition; the festival also contributes to enhancing the standing of participating teams internationally. Meanwhile, Mr. Andre Macedo assesses DIFF as a great opportunity to promote the city's image to the world. This event helps to honor the values that Da Nang is striving for, such as innovation, beauty, art, and vision.
Through the various fireworks seasons, Da Nang has become familiar to Ms. Nadia Sharika Wong, CEO of Global 2000 Company and Advisor to the DIFF Jury. Ms. Nadia believes that what makes Da Nang different lies not only in the dazzling fireworks displays over the Han River but also in its long-term vision for developing a festival, tourism, and cultural ecosystem.
Ms. Nadia believes that with this direction, DIFF will continue to maintain its position as one of the world's leading fireworks festivals, while contributing to making Da Nang a prominent destination on the international tourism map. The stories recounted by members of the fireworks team after each festival season are the clearest evidence of Da Nang's growing appeal.
