With its strengths in coastal and island tourism, along with favorable factors such as convenient transportation and sunny weather, Binh Thuan remains an attractive destination both in the past and during the upcoming national holiday.
In the first quarter of 2024, tourism in Binh Thuan province continued to thrive, with an average of over 700,000 visitors per month. During the Lunar New Year (Year of the Dragon), the province attracted 205,000 visitors (a 28% increase compared to last year's Tet holiday). It can be said that, in addition to benefiting from the opening of expressways and favorable weather conditions, the province's "smoke-free industry" also holds a strong advantage in its coastal and island tourism. This is creating a competitive edge for Binh Thuan as global tourism gradually recovers and develops to pre-Covid-19 levels.
Another noteworthy piece of information is that at the end of this month, Booking – the world's leading travel app – announced the list of the top 10 destinations in Vietnam most searched for by travelers in the Asia- Pacific region during the first three months of 2024. Besides the two largest cities, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, most of the other destinations listed boast strong beach and island tourism potential, including Mui Ne (alongside Da Nang, Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Hoi An, Hue, etc.). It is known that the survey participants mainly consisted of travelers over 18 years old who were in charge of making or planning their trips. The recently published results further demonstrate the attractiveness of Vietnam's coastal and island regions to international tourists, and it is predicted that the number of searches and bookings will continue to increase in the coming period at these destinations.
In preparation for the upcoming April 30th and May 1st holidays, many travel agencies have designed and introduced diverse tours to meet the needs of domestic tourists, focusing particularly on destinations with strong potential for beach and island tourism. For example, Saigontourism has developed a series of 2-day/1-night or 3-day/2-night tours to Phan Thiet departing from Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to provide tourists with meaningful sightseeing and relaxation experiences in this coastal region. Meanwhile, VN TOUR has selected and suggested a 3-day/2-night Phan Thiet tour program with the following itinerary: Ho Chi Minh City - Ta Cu Tourist Area - Mui Ne (Day 1), Bau Sen - Bau Trang - Wind Farm (Day 2), Pink Sand Dunes - Ho Chi Minh City (Day 3). As for INTOUR, their tour program for the upcoming holiday also includes a 3-day, 2-night Phan Thiet tour, offering visitors an experience and relaxation in a region known for its iconic "Blue Sea - White Sand - Golden Sunshine".
Especially with Phu Quy Island – a newly emerging tourist destination in Binh Thuan province that is attracting many visitors – many reports indicate that most of the tickets for high-speed ferries transporting passengers from Phan Thiet to the island district during the April 30th - May 1st holiday have already been booked. Along with that, all accommodation facilities on the small, pristine, and picturesque island are beginning to prepare to provide attentive service to thousands of tourists heading to Phu Quy each day during this period… Ms. Quynh Nhu from Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City), who has never set foot on the "pearl island" of Binh Thuan, hopes to visit with friends and proactively arrange time to explore the place. If traveling alone, she will register for a tour with a travel agency. Through research, she learned that there are currently many tours organized for the April 30th - May 1st holiday in 2024 with attractive itineraries, such as a 3-day, 3-night Phu Quy Island tour departing from Ho Chi Minh City; Even with just 2 days and 2 nights, a Phu Quy Island tour during the April 30th holiday still allows visitors time to experience Ganh Hang, capture photos at the Sovereignty Flagpole, explore the Love Valley, conquer Cao Cat Mountain and Linh Son Pagoda, and visit Dinh Thay Cape…
With its strong appeal for beach and island tourism, Binh Thuan province is expected to achieve significant success in both visitor numbers and revenue during the upcoming national holiday and immediately after that, enter the peak summer tourism season of 2024.
