The Youth Union of Van Son commune currently has 88 branches and affiliated unions with a total of over 1,000 members and young people. After the merger, the commune's Youth Union has promptly reorganized its structure, stabilized the members' morale, and implemented many practical activities.
In early June, following the young volunteers from the mountainous Van Son commune, we arrived at the Muong Bi High School examination site to participate in the "Supporting Students During Exams" program in 2026.

Youth union members and young people in Van Son commune participated in the "Supporting Students During Exams" program in 2026.
Despite the hot weather, the young volunteers in their blue shirts from Van Son always smiled and were ready to energize the students at the exam site. Meaningful activities took place there, such as: distributing free drinking water, milk, and snacks to candidates and their families; guiding and directing traffic at the school gate area, coordinating with authorities to maintain security and order; assisting with the safekeeping of personal belongings and providing backup study materials; and offering encouragement, support, and quick advice to relieve stress for the students before their crucial exams.
Along with the "Supporting Students During Exams" campaign, the Van Son Youth Volunteer Summer Campaign is underway with many meaningful activities such as the "Digital Summer with VNeID" in 2026. This activity aims to promote the pioneering role of young people in the digital transformation of the locality. Volunteers in blue shirts directly assisted people in installing and activating VNeID electronic identity accounts; guided them on using integrated features on the application; and disseminated information about the significance of Project 06 and how to submit applications through online public services... to over 500 people. Through this activity, digital skills have been improved, helping people feel secure and safe in the online environment.
In response to the "Green Sunday" movement, the Youth Union of Van Son commune organized environmental sanitation campaigns, including trimming trees that obstructed visibility, clearing bushes, and collecting waste. These activities contributed to creating a green, clean, and beautiful environment, ensuring traffic safety, and raising awareness of maintaining general hygiene.
The Youth Union branches in schools throughout the commune actively organized the volunteer movement "For a green, waste-free environment" with meaningful activities such as picking up trash and cleaning up. Specifically, they sorted and processed waste along Provincial Road 440, a section from Bieng hamlet to Bach hamlet, approximately 5km long, attracting over 100 Youth Union members and young people to participate.
On World Environment Day, June 5th, the Youth Union of the commune mobilized its members and young people to clean up the environment and plant trees. They implemented the action program "Say No to Plastic Bags"; maintained the "Rural Waste Collection Team"; broadcast environmental protection messages through the commune's radio station; planted over 2,000 new trees, and cared for the youth garden at the commune's stadium. In particular, they actively promoted and encouraged young people to use energy efficiently and effectively.

Environmental sanitation activities have been effectively implemented by the Youth Union of Van Son commune.
Comrade Bui Van Tuan – Secretary of the Youth Union of Van Son commune, said: Promoting the pioneering and volunteer spirit of youth, the Standing Committee of the commune's Youth Union has organized activities such as: Winter-Spring volunteer campaigns, Youth Month campaigns, Green Sunday, summer volunteer activities, and implementing youth projects and models following Uncle Ho's teachings... At the same time, they continue to maintain the Youth Self-Management Team for security and order; organize intensive campaigns to participate in building new rural areas, contributing labor days to build rural roads; caring for and planting new flower-lined roads and youth-led tree rows, attracting the participation of a large number of union members and young people.
With a spirit of proactively defending the Fatherland and maintaining political security and social order, the youth union branches have coordinated with local security forces to establish self-governing groups, regularly patrolling at night to prevent theft and protect people's property. In addition, they regularly promote and encourage union members and young people to actively participate in military service. The youth union members always play a core role in the militia and self-defense forces, receiving training and being ready for combat. The commune's Youth Union also coordinated the participation of 50 union members in the "1,000 Steps" campaign in Van Son commune to create momentum for establishing traffic safety and order in the commune.
