In recent years, the entrepreneurship movement among youth union members in Tam Nong district has made remarkable progress, contributing positively to the socio -economic development of the locality. Many new production and business models, owned and operated by young people, have built their own businesses, becoming shining examples for the community, contributing to job creation for local workers, and aiming towards sustainable poverty reduction.

Young people overcome difficulties to become wealthy.

Dao Manh Hung's Hung Thinh rose garden in Zone 9, Lam Son commune, has become a popular destination for young people in the surrounding area to visit and learn from his experience.

A prime example in the youth entrepreneurship movement is Pham Van Hung, born in 1994 in Zone 7, Thanh Uyen commune. Graduating with a degree in Biotechnology from the University of Forestry, in 2016, using a loan of 70 million VND from the 120 program of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and with the support of his family, Hung invested in building a workshop for producing various types of mushroom spawn.

After several failed batches of mushroom spawn due to lack of experience, he learned as he went along and gradually achieved success. His workshop expanded from 400m² to nearly 1,000m² , specializing in cultivating oyster mushrooms, reishi mushrooms, and other types of mushrooms. Not stopping there, in 2020, he began researching, cultivating, and successfully producing cordyceps mushrooms using advanced technology right in his local area. In 2022, he established the Bio Gold High-Tech Agricultural Production Cooperative with seven members, with himself as director.

Mr. Pham Van Hung shared: “Recognizing the benefits, economic value, and humanitarian value of implementing the One Commune One Product program, the cooperative successfully registered and developed the Bio Gold Cordyceps and Gynostemma pentaphyllum Cordyceps products, which have been certified as OCOP 3-star standard. The products produced by the cooperative are increasingly dominating the market both within and outside the province with reasonable prices and guaranteed quality. After deducting expenses, the cooperative earns a profit of 220-250 million VND per year, providing stable employment for nearly a dozen local workers.”

Driven by a desire to build a business in his hometown, Dao Manh Hung, a young man born in the 1980s from Zone 9, Lam Son commune, decided to leave his city job and return to his village at the age of 27 to cultivate foreign rose varieties. Looking back on his nearly 10 years in the rose cultivation business, he realizes that growing roses is not just a hobby, but the flower that revitalized his life, helping him start and successfully establish his business.

Mr. Hung focuses on cultivating rare and precious antique rose varieties. To obtain high-quality seedlings, he travels extensively throughout provinces and cities from North to South, dedicating time and effort to research and even spending a considerable amount of money to acquire quality plants.

Despite facing numerous difficulties, Mr. Hung persevered in his profession. To date, his family's rose garden has successfully cultivated 100 varieties of foreign roses, with approximately 5,000 commercial plants and seedlings on a total area of 16,000 square meters . The rose garden has not only helped his family escape poverty but also enabled them to become wealthy, generating an annual profit of around 300 million VND, contributing to job creation for many local workers, and becoming a popular tourist attraction and photo spot for young people.

These are just two of the many young people in Tam Nong district who are diligently working to enrich themselves and their families, and contributing their youthful energy to building their homeland. Implementing the movement to support young people in starting and developing businesses, the Tam Nong District Youth Union has organized activities to support young people; directing local youth organizations to establish clubs and groups for young people to develop businesses in the same field and with similar interests, sharing experiences and helping each other in production and finding markets for their products...

Young people overcome difficulties to become wealthy.

The Bio Gold high-tech agricultural production cooperative generates high profits and contributes to creating jobs for nearly a dozen local workers.

Comrade Phan Thi Kim Hoa - Secretary of the Tam Nong District Youth Union, said: “The program to support young people in starting businesses, establishing careers, and eradicating poverty among Youth Union members has received timely attention. The District Youth Union Standing Committee has coordinated with the District Branch of the Social Policy Bank to inspect loan capital from savings and loan groups managed by young people; guiding grassroots units to manage and effectively utilize entrusted capital. The District Youth Union is currently coordinating with the District Branch of the Social Policy Bank to manage 50 savings and loan groups, providing loans to more than 1,700 households with a total outstanding debt of over 75 billion VND. This preferential loan capital is invested by Youth Union members in production development and the establishment of economic development groups...”.

With the pioneering spirit, creativity, and enthusiasm of youth, many young people in the district have risen to develop the economy, legitimately enrich themselves, and affirm their role and position in contributing to the Party Committee, government, and people's efforts to build a more developed locality. However, for sustainable development, more attention and investment from all levels of government, the support of mass organizations, and the efforts of the young people themselves are needed.

In the coming period, the District Youth Union will continue to implement many policies to support and encourage young people to develop their economy through loans, organize training courses on science and technology, and replicate highly effective models... in order to create the most favorable conditions for young people to exchange experiences and promote the spirit of youth in building their homeland.
