In the final quarterfinal match of the 2025 League of Legends World Championship, T1 faced AL, the strongest Chinese representative in the tournament. Here, the two teams had the most intense series of the tournament so far. T1 and AL went to the final game of their best-of-five series to determine which team would advance to the semifinals.

Not only was the final result intense, but each game was also very close. The two teams were evenly matched. While AL's Flandre was consistent and dominated their opponent, Gumayusi and Keria from T1 were the better bot lane duo. The highlight of the matchup had to be Shank and Faker in the mid lane.

It took a long time after Knight's emergence for China to produce a midlaner with a sufficiently wide champion pool to match up against the Korean superstar Faker.

In the end, T1 won the first game but were pushed into a corner in games 2 and 3. Finally, the reigning world champions rediscovered their form, winning the last two games. Thus, they advanced to the semifinals. They will have a day off before facing TOP Esports. Compared to AL, the second-ranked Chinese team from the summer split is considered weaker. Furthermore, T1 continues its unbeaten streak against any LPL team in the best-of-five format at the World Championship. Therefore, they are considered the favorites.

In the other bracket, the reigning Korean champions GenG maintained their dominant form. They easily defeated HLE, another title contender. Chovy and his teammates will face KT, the third seed from the LCK, in a rematch.

The League of Legends World Championship 2025 will take place from October 14th to November 9th in Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu, China. This is the third time the country with the world's largest population has hosted the event, following 2017 and 2020. T1 is the reigning world champion for two consecutive years.

However, the team displayed an unconvincing performance, with inconsistent form across all five positions. If they overcome TES, T1 will recreate an all-SKT T1 clash in the finals. In their last decisive match in China, SKT T1 (the predecessor of T1) lost to Samsung Galaxy (the predecessor of GenG). This defeat marked the beginning of a five-year decline for the most historically successful organization in the game's history.
