Accident on the Nha Trang highway

On the afternoon of June 25th, regarding the health status of the two seriously injured victims in the collision between a container truck and a passenger car on the Nha Trang-Cam Lam expressway, which resulted in five casualties, Dr. Vo Quang Minh Hieu of Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital stated that patient Nguyen Duc Anh Khoa (born in 1997, from Quang Ngai) is currently in stable condition and is being treated in the Clinical Department. Patient Nguyen Van Tuan (born in 1972, from Ho Chi Minh City) remains in a coma.

“ Patient Nguyen Van Tuan is being treated in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and is currently still in a coma; the prognosis is not very good ,” said Doctor Hieu.

Earlier on June 24th, representatives from Cam Ranh City General Hospital (Khanh Hoa) stated that all three victims of the accident at 1 AM were male, with two seriously injured patients suffering from traumatic brain injury and multiple injuries, who were transferred to Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital that same morning.

According to the head of the Khanh Hoa Department of Transport, authorities measured the alcohol level of the container truck driver and determined that his blood alcohol concentration did not exceed the legal limit.

The Cam Lam - Nha Trang expressway has now been officially opened to traffic. However, in some areas along the route, dashcams have not yet been installed and the investor is continuing to complete the installation. This is also a reason why many drivers are careless and exceed the speed limit.

As VTC News previously reported, at approximately 1:00 AM on June 24, 2023, a traffic accident occurred at Km 48+100 on the Nha Trang–Cam Lam expressway (section belonging to Giai Phong hamlet, Cam Phuoc Dong commune, Cam Ranh city) between a Toyota Vios 5-seater car driven by Mr. Nguyen Tan D. (born 1982, residing in Tinh Son commune, Son Tinh district, Quang Ngai province) traveling in the North-South direction, carrying three passengers: Nguyen Thanh T. (born 1977), Nguyen Van Tuan (born 1972, both residing in Thoi An ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City) and Nguyen Duc Anh Khoa (born 1997, residing in Duc Hoa commune, Mo Duc district, Quang Ngai province) and a tractor-trailer driven by Nguyen Van Hanh (born 1983; residing in Ninh Phuc commune, Ninh Binh city, Ninh Binh province) traveling in the same direction. Later, the tractor-trailer was carrying two people: one assistant driver, Vu Van Ngoc (born in 1989, residing in Khanh Hoa commune, Yen Khanh district, Ninh Binh province), and one passenger, Hoang Dinh Ha (born in 2004, residing in Man Duc commune, Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province).

As a result, Nguyen Tan D. and Nguyen Thanh T. died on the spot; Nguyen Van Tuan, Nguyen Duc Anh Khoa, and Hoang Dinh Ha were injured and taken to Cam Ranh Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment; Tuan and Khoa were later transferred to Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital for further treatment; and two cars were severely damaged.
