
Authorities are assisting in the disposal of pigs infected with African swine fever.
A total of 116 pigs from 16 farming households were infected, with a total weight of 3,779 kg. All infected pigs were disposed of in accordance with disease prevention and control regulations.
In response to the situation, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has coordinated with local authorities to urgently implement measures to contain and eradicate the outbreak. Currently, the department has provided medicine and lime powder to localities for disinfection and sterilization in the livestock areas of affected households.
Simultaneously, suspend livestock trading activities in the affected area; establish temporary animal quarantine checkpoints in the affected area and communes at high risk of infection to prevent the spread of the disease.
