In her newly completed house, Ms. Dam Thi Huong from Quyet Thang village, Tan Ky commune, shared: "My family is classified as a disadvantaged family in the locality and was approved by the commune People's Committee to replace temporary housing. We also borrowed money to build this house, which is worth over 200 million VND. Thanks to proactively starting the project when the weather was favorable, the house was completed in about two months. My family no longer fears heavy rain and strong winds like we did in our old house."
These days, the family of Mr. Nong Van Trong, in Ban Pho village, Tan Ky commune, is also busy assisting construction workers to complete the wall construction phase of their house, striving to have it ready for occupancy by early August.
According to Mr. Trong, his family is considered disadvantaged in the locality, living in a small, makeshift wooden house that has been there for many years. After being approved by the local authorities to be included in the list of families eligible for temporary housing demolition, the family actively cooperated in the process. They also borrowed nearly 100 million VND to build a new house.
According to the leaders of Tan Ky commune, the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has encountered some difficulties, such as: the households on the list for support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses are all economically disadvantaged, are ethnic minorities, live in remote areas, and place great importance on the auspicious date and age for building a house... However, with the involvement of the entire political system, the progress of house construction is now on schedule.

According to Mr. Hoang Van Luan, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of Tan Ky commune: In the commune, there are nearly 200 households eligible for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. To date, more than 50 households have completed construction, over 100 households are under construction, and more than 30 newly registered households will proceed with the construction of prefabricated and brick houses, with groundbreaking expected next week.
The Economic Department continues to advise the Party Committee and the government to focus their efforts and provide support in terms of resources and materials from local organizations and associations to strive for the complete elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Tan Ky by August 15, 2025.
With the motto "Leaving no one behind," Thai Nguyen province has been making concerted efforts to implement various solutions to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing for poor households and those in difficult circumstances.
The program not only demonstrates a profound humanitarian spirit, but is also one of the important criteria contributing to building sustainable new rural areas, improving the quality of life for people, especially ethnic minorities and households in remote areas.
Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses helps people settle down and make a living. With stable housing, people can work and produce with peace of mind, children can study in better environments, and the elderly can be cared for in more decent conditions...
