Along with solutions to strengthen the management and safe operation of the power grid system, in 2025, Can Tho City Electricity Company will promote investment in renovating, upgrading and constructing many new power grid projects in the city. Thanks to that, the city has had many key power projects put into use, helping to increase the quality of power supply, serving the needs of economic and social growth of the city.

Currently, Can Tho City Electricity Company is managing and operating 12 110kV transformer stations along with more than 55,000km of medium and low voltage lines... With the existing grid infrastructure system, the electricity industry basically meets the demand for consumption as well as electricity for production and business and commercial service activities in the city. However, to ensure the requirement of stable and reliable electricity supply for the city, the Company has directed its affiliated power companies to strengthen inspection of medium and low voltage lines and transformer stations, especially in areas with potential for overload; proactively deploy plans to protect the safety of high voltage grid corridors to minimize electrical incidents; Implement a plan to provide priority power to key electricity customers as well as ensure good power supply for important festivals and events as required by the city... As a result, in the first months of 2025, the electricity sector has done a good job of maintaining power for 33 important events taking place in Can Tho as well as the requirement of stable power supply, serving more than 420,000 electricity customers in the city.

According to Can Tho City Electricity Company, in the first 4 months of 2025, Can Tho City's total commercial electricity output reached over 1.1 billion kWh, an increase of more than 4.7% over the same period last year. This shows that the demand for electricity in all sectors and fields in the city is increasing day by day. And to meet the increasing load demand, serving the needs of the city's socio -economic growth, in the first months of 2025, the Company focused on investing in upgrading, renovating and constructing many new power grid projects in the city. In particular, many key projects have been put into use, contributing to improving the quality of electricity supply to serve people's lives as well as promoting socio-economic development in localities.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Nhon, Deputy Director of Can Tho City Electricity Company, said: One of the key projects in 2025 that the electricity industry is making efforts to invest in is the Cai Rang 110kV station and connecting line, with a total station capacity of 2x63MVA. This project is invested by the Southern Power Corporation, with a total investment of over 110 billion VND, and was officially energized and put into operation at the end of April 2025, contributing to improving the reliability of continuous power supply, meeting the load demand for the key industrial development area of ​​Cai Rang district and neighboring areas of Can Tho city. At the same time, the electricity industry also completed the medium and low voltage capacitor banks and switching equipment in April 2025, contributing to improving voltage quality and reducing power loss on the grid for many localities; Implementing the construction of 10 22kV power grid projects in districts and towns, reaching over 80% of the volume so far; constructing a new 22kV line to exploit the 110kV Binh Thuy station... The power projects that have been invested in and are being built not only help improve the reliability of power supply to localities, but also increase the quality of electricity, optimally serving the needs of daily life as well as expanding production and business activities of local people.

Along with efforts to invest in construction, strengthen the implementation of technical solutions to improve the efficiency of grid operation, serving the need for safe and reliable power supply for the city, Can Tho City Power Company has been gradually improving the grid towards automation for 110kV transformer stations operating without personnel. Currently, all 110kV transformer stations are invested in SCADA systems synchronized with control systems, serving the monitoring and operation of the grid... thereby helping to improve the reliability of power supply to serve customers.

In order to meet the demand for electricity for the city's socio-economic growth, Can Tho City Power Company will coordinate with sectors and levels to focus on mobilizing investment resources to develop the power grid system structure. Along with that, Can Tho City Power Company will continue to promote the application of information technology in customer care services on a digital platform, gradually increasing the satisfaction level of electricity customers with the existing services of the electricity industry.
