The project, invested by the Department of Agriculture and Environment, has a total investment of 460 billion VND. It is being implemented on a large scale, including the following items: berths, embankments behind the berths, dredging of the waterway, mooring posts, mooring buoys, navigation buoys, renovation of the old fishing port; embankments, access roads within the port, rainwater drainage system and other auxiliary structures. Construction is taking place in Dong Son commune, commenced in 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2026.
After nearly two years since construction began, the first phase of the operation has been largely completed. The goal is to complete several more important items by the end of January 2026, including: a berth approximately 350m long, a seawall behind the berth and the main port, internal port roads, a vehicle staging area, a mooring system, mooring buoys, and navigation buoys.
From now until the end of January 2026, Dong Son commune will approve several compensation and support plans, serving as the basis for paying people and reclaiming land for construction. The goal is to hand over 100% of the land to the contractor by February 2026.
