These days, the streets of Cua Ong ward are bustling with activity as urban beautification and upgrading efforts are underway. Transportation infrastructure is being invested in comprehensively, and the urban landscape is changing noticeably, bringing joy and excitement to the local people.
The drainage ditch and service road in Cam Phu 8A and 8B were previously open ditches, resulting in narrow and difficult-to-navigate roads. To date, the ditch has been urgently invested in, upgraded, and constructed with a total investment of over 12 billion VND. Besides the support from the province and local authorities, the people in the neighborhood have unanimously agreed and contributed their efforts to realize the plan, creating optimal conditions for construction and ensuring the project's early completion.
Besides the canal and service road project in Cam Phu 8A and 8B areas, Cua Ong ward is accelerating the planting and supplementation of green spaces, decorative flagpoles along the roads, and the replacement of dilapidated and damaged power lines and streetlights; and renovating existing roads in residential areas within the ward with a total investment of over 48 billion VND. On all construction sites, a spirit of enthusiastic labor is evident, with a determination to bring the projects to completion as soon as possible.
Mr. Vu Nguyen Ha, Head of Project Management Department, Cua Ong Ward Service Supply Center, said: "Right in the first months of the year, the Center organized meetings with construction units to review, urge, and sign commitments on progress. At the same time, we regularly monitor the detailed construction progress of each project to promptly resolve any obstacles. For projects currently underway, the locality strives to complete them by the end of May 2026. In addition, the locality is preparing documents and procedures to implement four more urban upgrading, renovation, and beautification projects with a total investment of over 170 billion VND. The implementation of urban renovation and beautification projects not only addresses long-standing shortcomings and changes the appearance of the area, but also further strengthens the people's trust in the leadership of the Party Committee and the government."
Along with Cua Ong ward, implementing the plan to improve urban and residential area quality, Dong Trieu ward focused on leadership and direction, mobilizing the synchronized participation of the entire political system, and decisively deploying 32 projects and works with a total investment of over 65 billion VND. The projects were implemented in a coordinated manner, closely aligned with the practical needs of the people, focusing on upgrading and improving the transportation system; building outdoor playgrounds and sports facilities; and improving the drainage system in residential areas … With a proactive, urgent, and highly responsible spirit, the ward's Party committee and government strengthened leadership and direction, taking advantage of favorable weather conditions to organize flexible implementation and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles arising during the process. In addition, the projects received the consensus and positive support of the people through voluntary land donations, property donations, and labor contributions, which created favorable conditions and significantly contributed to the projects' timely implementation.
By mid- February 2026, All completed construction projects have significantly changed the urban landscape , bringing joy to the local people. Currently, the locality is processing the necessary documents and procedures to prepare for investment in an additional 41 projects aimed at upgrading and improving the quality of urban areas and residential zones .
Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh, Deputy Director of the Dong Trieu Ward Service Supply Center, said: "The projects and works invested with capital in 2025 have been completed on schedule, contributing to creating a spacious and pleasant atmosphere for the people, and strengthening their confidence . Building on these achievements, this year, the locality will continue to implement a number of additional projects to complete the urban area in a comprehensive, modern, and spacious manner. These projects are expected to commence at the end of March 2026. This is also an important foundation for localities to promote rapid and sustainable development, meeting the people's expectations for an increasingly modern city, and gradually realizing the goal of building the province into a centrally-governed city."
