However, to create a breakthrough for tourism in Hoa Vang, relevant authorities are considering solutions to exploit the advantages of waterway tourism combined with tourist attractions, historical sites, and ecological zones to connect tours and routes to this area.
Potential for cultural experiential tourism
Hoa Vang currently boasts 4 national-level and 5 city-level historical sites, a system of commemorative steles, village communal houses, ancestral temples, and ancient houses. In addition, well-organized and distinctive festivals, deeply rooted in Hoa Vang's rural culture, contribute to its appeal to locals and tourists alike, such as the Tuy Loan communal house festival, the Bo Ban festival, and the vegetable festival.
Alongside the preservation of historical sites, the locality focuses on developing economic models linked to experiences, such as eco-tourism zones and community-based tourism. Some typical models, such as Tuy Loan vegetable garden, Banarita Glamping Farm, An Phu Farm, Hesita Farm, etc., have formed a chain of experiential tourism products, combining sightseeing, education, and relaxation.
According to Mr. Ho Tang Phuc, Vice Chairman of the Hoa Vang Commune People's Committee, exploiting heritage for tourism development contributes to raising community awareness about heritage preservation; many relics are preserved and their value is promoted in connection with contemporary life. Agricultural -tourism models are gradually developing, attracting an increasing number of visitors, contributing to promoting the shift in economic structure towards services and tourism.
However, destinations lack integration into complete tourism products; tourism infrastructure, especially local transportation, parking, and signage systems; and the quality of services and local human resources still have many limitations. This has created a "bottleneck" for the development of tourism in Hoa Vang.
Create a comprehensive, interconnected tour experience.
To address the challenges facing tourism in Hoa Vang, relevant authorities conducted a field survey, comprehensively assessing the potential, outlining connections between destinations, and examining the current state of waterway tourism development in the area. The survey was carried out along the Tuy Loan River – considered the "backbone" for developing the local waterway tourism product. From this route, it was possible to connect and assess the actual situation at a series of typical destinations such as Bo Ban village communal house, the cluster of ancient houses and ancestral tombs, Tuy Loan village communal house, the Ong Ich Duong stele, and the Phu Tuc village communal house.

According to Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the destinations have the potential to be linked together into a complete experiential journey: from the cultural space of ancient villages and historical relics to community and ecotourism. This is a distinct advantage of Hoa Vang compared to many other localities, as it can develop tourism products with "one journey - many experiences".
Based on field surveys, the tourism industry is orienting the development of Hoa Vang tourism towards "reconnecting" existing values by building integrated tours; in which each destination does not stand alone but becomes a link in a chain of shared experiences.
Mr. Ho Tang Phuc further stated that, in implementing the resolution of the Hoa Vang Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, the locality is promoting the overall planning of tourism development in the direction of linking historical sites with ecological agricultural models, forming characteristic experiential routes and tours bearing the unique imprint of the Hoa Vang countryside.
In particular, investment should be focused on developing and improving tourism products in the Bo Ban Cultural Village and neighboring areas such as Tuy Loan, Hoa Phuoc, Hoi Phuoc, and Phu Tuc. In addition, emphasis should be placed on improving the quality of local human resources, fostering skills in community tourism and tourist service; and strengthening tourism promotion and marketing through digital platforms, social media, and partnerships with travel agencies to expand the tourist market.
"With the coordinated efforts of the government and the people, we expect Hoa Vang to become a unique eco-cultural tourism destination; contributing to sustainable economic development and preserving the traditional identity of the locality," Mr. Phuc said.
