Making a breakthrough during Workers' Month 2026

May 2026 marks the peak of activities aimed at improving the lives of union members and workers, and it is also a significant milestone as the working class of Dong Thap province strives to compete in celebrating the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union.

With a spirit of innovation and determination, the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor (LĐLĐ) has proactively implemented a series of key programs, from ensuring labor safety to developing union membership and building the Party, creating a new dynamism in units and enterprises.

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE BIG FESTIVAL

The year 2026 marks an important milestone for the Vietnam Trade Union organization with the holding of its 14th National Congress. Amidst this atmosphere of excitement, this year's Workers' Month in Dong Thap is being celebrated with special significance.

Comrade Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui, President of the Provincial Labor Union, delivered a speech at the 2026 Training Conference on Occupational Safety and Health and Fire Prevention and Control.

Propaganda efforts are no longer limited to simply hanging banners and visual slogans on roads or in industrial zones, but have been specifically implemented through social media platforms, cultural and artistic activities, and sports .

The dissemination of traditional values ​​commemorating 140 years of International Labor Day, coupled with the achievements of the trade union in the past term, has fostered trust among union members and workers in the organization.

The symbolic images and propaganda posters of the 14th Congress are vividly displayed on social media platforms, in trade union group meetings, and in internal company newsletters.

This is how the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions inspires solidarity, the will to strive, and the desire to contribute among workers, considering each initiative and each hour of safe work as a meaningful gift to the Congress.

To ensure that the activities are not merely ceremonial, leadership and management play a crucial role. At the quarterly trade union meeting for the first quarter of 2026, Comrade Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui, Provincial Party Committee member and President of the Provincial Federation of Labor, gave insightful guidance on organizing celebratory activities.

Comrade Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui emphasized: "We should not organize activities in a conventional way, but rather use the satisfaction of workers and the sustainable development of the enterprise as the benchmark."

Trade union officials at all levels must be pioneers in the digital transformation of propaganda work, and at the same time, they must be attentive to listening to the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers.

"The 2026 Workers' Month must be a testament to a reformed trade union organization, where every activity originates from union members and workers, and every action is aimed at improving labor productivity while ensuring tangible benefits."

This directive clearly defined the tasks: from encouraging at least 10% of union members to participate in proposing initiatives to ensuring that 30% of those initiatives are applied in production, contributing to the realization of the theme "Vietnamese Workers: Innovation and Creativity, Enhancing Labor Productivity".

Simultaneously, the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions is implementing the "Month of Intensive Membership Development and Establishment of Grassroots Trade Unions," a crucial task to strengthen the organization. Beyond simply increasing the number of members, special attention is also paid to the quality of union membership through the recommendation of outstanding members in labor and production for the Party to consider for training and admission.

The "Trade Union Members Contribute Ideas to Building the Vietnam Trade Union" dialogue sessions have also become a democratic forum where workers directly offer suggestions to improve the Trade Union Charter and the documents of the 14th Congress, affirming their position in the new era.

PROVIDING GENUINE CARE AND ENSURING SAFETY

The "Thank You, Workers" program continues to spread through concrete actions such as supporting the construction of "Trade Union Shelters," organizing warm "Trade Union Meals," and visiting workers who have suffered accidents or serious illnesses. Through these efforts, timely support is provided to those less fortunate, helping them find the strength to overcome adversity.

Alongside welfare activities, the 2026 Occupational Safety and Health Action Month is being implemented with the spirit of "Safety for production - Production must be safe".

The Provincial Labor Union organized a training course on "Occupational Safety and Health - Fire Prevention and Control" in two key areas: My Tho Ward and Cao Lanh Ward.

New updates on the Law on Occupational Safety and Health, the Social Insurance Law 2024, and especially fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue skills according to the new regulations have been disseminated to the network of occupational safety and health officers.

Thorough preparation in this area of ​​knowledge not only helps minimize the risk of workplace accidents at the unit or enterprise, but is also an important preparatory step for the "Occupational Safety and Health - Fire Prevention and Control Competition" in 2026.

Cultural and sports activities are also an indispensable part of making Workers' Month complete. The "After Work Hours" game show or the Workers' Football Tournament are not only entertainment venues but also a bond of solidarity between different units.
