The Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group (TKV) announced that, despite the impact of storms and floods, TKV's revenue still reached over 102% in the first 10 months of 2024.
In October 2024, the Group directed and managed coal production, screening, and consumption units according to plan, prepared resources and consumption, coordinated production plans, quickly overcame the consequences of storms and floods, and stabilized production. Raw coal production reached 3.08 million tons, consumption reached 3.39 million tons; overburden removal reached 13.3 million m3; tunnel excavation reached 24,296 meters. Alumina production (converted) reached 106,000 tons, consumption reached 142,000 tons. Copper concentrate production reached 8,170 tons, copper sheet production; 826 tons of zinc ingots; and 12,650 tons of steel billets.

In addition, the Group produced and consumed 720 million kWh of electricity; produced 6,300 tons of explosives and consumed 9,000 tons. It also produced 18,500 tons of ammonium nitrate and consumed 14,900 tons. Having met the basic targets according to the operational plan, total revenue in October 2024 reached VND 13,430 billion. Thus, the cumulative revenue for the first 10 months of the year is estimated at VND 137,157 billion, reaching 102.5% compared to the same period last year. Commercial coal production reached 40.98 million tons; raw coal production reached 30.66 million tons; earth and rock excavation reached 118.1 million m3. The total length of tunnels excavated reached 218,415 meters. Coal consumption reached 37.76 million tons, of which 32.37 million tons were supplied to power plants. Production reached 1.153 million tons of alumina equivalent, with consumption at 1.17 million tons. Copper concentrate production reached 93.54 thousand tons, copper sheet production reached 24,550 tons, consumption reached 23,902 tons, zinc ingots reached 7,700 tons, and steel billets reached 138.92 thousand tons. Total electricity production reached 7.744 billion kWh. Basic targets for chemicals and industrial explosives were met. The Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group directed its units to implement production plans, mitigate the consequences of storms and floods, and stabilize production.
