(NLDO) - Earth Hour is not only an annual event but also contributes to changing public awareness about energy saving and environmental protection.


On the evening of March 22, at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House, the lights-off event in response to the Earth Hour 2025 campaign took place in a vibrant atmosphere, attracting a large number of people, young people and organizations to participate.

The program is organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation, aiming to raise public awareness about energy saving and environmental protection.

The organizers and artists performed the lights-off ceremony in response to the Earth Hour Campaign 2025.

Earth Hour is an initiative of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), launched in 2007 and officially responded to in Vietnam since 2009.

This year, Earth Hour takes place with the message "Green Shift - Green Future" launched by WWF Vietnam and the Ministry of Industry and Trade .

Not only stopping at turning off the lights for 60 minutes, this year's campaign also calls for long-term commitments from individuals and businesses in reducing emissions, making a green transition and moving towards Net Zero (net zero emissions).

Many exchange activities and cultural programs take place within the framework of the event.

Within the framework of the program, many meaningful activities took place, including art performances, exchanges with environmental ambassadors and propaganda about green living habits.

At exactly 8:30 p.m., thousands of people turned off their lights, joining the beat of the global campaign.

Earth Hour is not only an annual event but also contributes to changing public awareness about energy saving and environmental protection. Over the past 15 years, this campaign has expanded with many practical initiatives such as using renewable energy, reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable lifestyles.

Ms. Tran Thu Ha - Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City - presented flowers and a thank you letter to Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation.

Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation, a partner of the campaign, emphasized its commitment to continue supporting propaganda and advocacy activities to promote the economical and efficient use of electricity, contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and moving towards a sustainable future.

The event night ended but the echoes continued to spread, encouraging each individual to take practical action to protect the planet.
