The fire then spread to two adjacent vessels before being brought under control by authorities, resulting in significant damage to all three vessels.

Mr. Bai, piloting a 155 HP fishing boat engaged in near-shore purse seine fishing, docked at Chau Than beach, Binh Chau commune, after a night of near-shore fishing. Around 10 am, the boat burst into flames, with thick black smoke rising dozens of meters into the air. Nearby boats had to move further away for fear of the fire spreading.

Those present, along with the crew, used buckets, basins, and pails to pour water onto the ship to extinguish the fire. After about an hour, the fire was brought under control, causing no casualties, but half of the ship's hull was blackened. The engine, navigation system, radio, and many fishermen were damaged. The estimated damage is 500 million VND. The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical short circuit.

In recent days, Quang Ngai and many other provinces in central Vietnam have experienced intense heat. Provincial authorities have advised residents to take precautions against fires and explosions.
