Mr. Bai drove a 155 CV fishing boat, fishing nearshore, to anchor at Chau Than beach, Binh Chau commune after a night of fishing nearshore. At around 10 am, the boat caught fire, sending black smoke dozens of meters high. Nearby boats had to move away for fear of the fire spreading.

The people present and the crew used buckets, basins, and buckets to scoop water onto the ship to put out the fire. After about an hour, the fire was controlled, causing no casualties, but half of the ship's hull was charred black. The engine, GPS, walkie-talkie, and many fishermen were damaged. The damage was about 500 million VND. The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical short circuit.

Over the past few days, Quang Ngai and many other central provinces have been experiencing intense heat. Provincial authorities have advised people to take precautions against fires and explosions.
