During that journey, Vietnam Law Newspaper, in collaboration with Bike Week Vietnam, organized the program "Joining Hands to Spread Spring of Love," delivering Tet gifts and sharing with people in the flood-affected area of Phu Yen ward ( Dak Lak ) – where many households are still struggling daily after the natural disaster, so that they can have a more fulfilling Tet holiday.

On the morning of February 1st, 2026, after a journey of over 500 km, departing from Dong Nai at 10 PM on January 31st, 2026, the convoy carrying Tet gifts arrived at the Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee headquarters. The cool weather characteristic of the end of the year created a tranquil atmosphere. Inside the hall, the Tet gifts were neatly arranged: bags of essential goods, tightly wrapped banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), fragrant with the aroma of fresh sticky rice. The preparation was urgent yet orderly and thoughtful – reflecting the program's intention to show respect to each and every citizen. From outside, the people eagerly awaited, their eyes shining with simple anticipation. After days of prolonged rain and floods, when their property was swept away and their lives turned upside down, each Tet gift was like a silent encouragement: that they were not alone on their journey through hardship.

The gift distribution was carried out in close coordination between the local authorities and the organizing committee. People were guided to queue and receive gifts in an orderly manner, ensuring safety and convenience. The sticky rice cakes – a familiar Tet dish in Central Vietnam – were carefully prepared, carrying the flavor of family reunion of spring, bringing more joy to the people as the new year arrived.

Holding the Tet gifts in her hands, Mrs. Huynh Nho emotionally shared her gratitude for the care and attention the Party, the State, and social organizations have given her family after the floods. "This Tet is so much more joyful and fulfilling," she said, her voice choked with emotion. Her words were short and simple, yet they warmed the hearts of those who heard them. For her, it was not just about a more materially fulfilling Tet, but also about the feeling of being protected after those difficult days.
In another corner of the hall, Phong – a 7th-grade student from Nguyen Thi Dinh Secondary School – couldn't hide his joy upon receiving a gift from the program. His radiant smile and enthusiastic raised hand seemed to carry a simple wish: a more peaceful spring for his family after days affected by floods. In that moment, Tet (Vietnamese New Year) seemed to have arrived through the innocent joy of a child.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Le Duy, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Yen Ward, said: "The lives of the people after the flood have basically stabilized. In particular, 12 houses that collapsed have been rebuilt during the Quang Trung Campaign, helping households to quickly settle down and feel secure in their work and production. Timely support from organizations and units has played a crucial role in helping people become more resilient after the natural disaster."

The "Joining Hands to Spread Spring of Love" journey in Phu Yen is not an isolated event. Prior to this, the Vietnam Law Newspaper had organized charitable programs in flood-affected areas across the country, distributing numerous gifts to support flood victims. In Phu Yen itself, immediately after the floodwaters receded, over 20 tons of goods from the Vietnam Law Newspaper reached the people. These activities not only demonstrate the social responsibility of a media organization but also affirm its role in connecting communities and spreading love after each flood season.

Authorized by Dr. Vu Hoai Nam (Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Law Newspaper and the Editorial Board of Vietnam Law Newspaper), Mr. Huynh Ngoc Hieu (Deputy Head of the Vietnam Law Newspaper's representative office in Ho Chi Minh City) continued to lead the delegation delivering goods to the people of Phu Yen ward this time. Journalist Huynh Ngoc Hieu shared: “Vietnam Law Newspaper and its sponsors always understand and share the difficulties that the people of Phu Yen ward have been experiencing, especially after the floods at the end of 2025. Although the value of each gift is not large, it represents the sincere feelings and sharing of the staff and reporters of Vietnam Law Newspaper and benefactors to the local government and people.”
Journalist Huynh Ngoc Hieu emphasized that the most important thing is the spirit of mutual support and timely encouragement for people to overcome this difficult period.
He stated that, even during the severe flooding, the Vietnam Law Newspaper, in coordination with philanthropists, provided the people of Phu Yen ward with 20 tons of goods, mainly essential necessities. Continuing this spirit, on the occasion of Tet (Lunar New Year), this program of distributing 500 gift packages and 1,000 banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) further demonstrates the long-term partnership of the Vietnam Law Newspaper with the local community.
On the occasion of the New Year, journalist Huynh Ngoc Hieu sends his best wishes to the people of Phu Yen ward for a warm traditional Tet holiday, hoping they will soon overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, and have a prosperous new year with abundant harvests.
Mr. Tran Xuan Tuc, Secretary of the Phu Yen Ward Party Committee, said that with the close attention and guidance of the provincial leaders and the timely contributions of philanthropists, the work of supporting people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters in the ward has achieved very positive results.
"Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the local authorities quickly assessed and compiled statistics on the damage, and proactively coordinated with functional forces and charitable organizations and individuals to implement emergency support measures for the people," he informed.
According to Mr. Tran Xuan Tuc, the overarching goal of the ward is to help people stabilize their lives as soon as possible, ensuring that no one is left behind, especially households in difficult circumstances, families receiving preferential treatment, and those whose homes have been severely damaged. In that spirit, the ward has focused its resources on constructing and repairing houses for households whose homes were completely destroyed, ensuring progress, quality, and safety during construction.
"To date, in Phu Yen ward, 12 houses that were completely destroyed have been rebuilt and repaired, and handed over to the residents for use. The houses are all designed to be spacious and sturdy, meeting basic living needs, helping families feel secure in their homes, gradually restoring production and stabilizing their lives. The completion of these houses not only has material significance but also serves as a great source of spiritual encouragement, helping people to have more confidence to overcome difficulties and return to normal life soon," emphasized the Secretary of the Phu Yen Ward Party Committee, affirming that the achieved results are the culmination of the spirit of solidarity, sharing, and social responsibility of the entire political system, the business community, philanthropists, and the local people. This is also clear evidence of the effectiveness of social mobilization efforts, promoting the tradition of "mutual support and compassion" in the community.
In anticipation of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), Phu Yen ward continues to promote efforts to mobilize philanthropists and sponsors to better care for the lives of its residents, especially those who have recently experienced difficulties due to natural disasters. It is expected that many practical Tet gifts will be delivered directly to the people, contributing to helping them have better conditions to celebrate a warm, fulfilling, and meaningful Tet holiday.
Mr. Tran Xuan Tuc expressed his deep gratitude to the provincial leaders, organizations, individuals, and philanthropists, especially the Vietnam Law Newspaper, for their continuous support and assistance to Phu Yen ward over the past period. At the same time, Mr. Tuc affirmed that the local government will continue to strive, uphold its sense of responsibility, and further improve social welfare work, caring for the lives of the people, contributing to building a more stable and developed Phu Yen ward.

As the gift-giving ceremony concluded, the sun rose higher. On the faces of the villagers, fatigue seemed to give way to joy and relief. The gifts were taken home, carrying with them the belief that after these difficult days, spring would still come – more abundant, warmer – with the collective efforts of the entire community.
In Phu Yen today, Tet has arrived early. Tet comes through small gifts, but they serve as encouragement and warmth for those who have just gone through floods, and are enduring enough to remind us that, in all circumstances, human kindness is always the strongest support.
