Queen Mother Sirikit of Thailand has passed away.

The Royal Office of Thailand announced that Queen Mother Sirikit has passed away at the age of 93 at Chulalongkorn Hospital.

According to Xinhua News Agency on October 25, in an official statement, the Royal Office of Thailand announced that Queen Mother Sirikit has been under continuous medical supervision and treatment since September 7, 2019, due to several chronic illnesses.

According to doctors, Queen Sirikit contracted sepsis on October 17, 2025. Despite the doctors' efforts to treat her, her condition gradually worsened and she passed away at 9:21 PM on October 24 at Chulalongkorn Hospital, at the age of 93.

King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of Thailand has instructed relevant authorities to prepare for the funeral of Queen Mother Sirikit, which will be held with the utmost solemnity in accordance with royal tradition.

The remains of Queen Mother Sirikit are laid in state at the Dusit Maha Prasat Palace within the Royal Palace in Bangkok.

The King of Thailand also issued a decree of a one-year mourning period for members of the royal family and royal officials, starting from the time of Queen Mother Sirikit's death.
