Tho Chu Island is located far from the mainland and experiences harsh weather conditions, making living, working, and transportation difficult for both the people and the forces stationed there. Despite this, in recent years, thanks to the attention of the Party, the State, local authorities, and businesses, the lives and work of officers, soldiers, and the people on Tho Chu Island have been improving. Many modern and sturdy social and cultural facilities have been built, such as the electricity system, medical station, post office, schools, and memorial sites.

Sharing with the delegation, Mr. Tran Quoc Giang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tho Chau Special Economic Zone, said that the local government and people were very pleased and moved by the attention from all levels, sectors, and forces. In particular, since the establishment of the special economic zone and recently with the guidance from the Central Government, the socio-economic life here has seen many positive changes, creating confidence for the people to live and work peacefully, protecting the sea and the island. On the occasion of the 2026 Lunar New Year, the locality also coordinated with relevant agencies to organize cultural and artistic activities to serve the people and officers and soldiers on the island.
