By the end of December 2025, Nam Mau Coal Company will have mined 2.5 million tons of underground coal, marking the first time the project has reached its designed capacity. The Nam Mau coal mine shaft mining project has a total reserve of 53.46 million tons of raw coal, with over 25,500 meters of basic mine shaft construction and an operating period extending until 2046. This is one of the Group's large-scale underground mining projects, including a 1,410-meter-long main inclined shaft, a 1,213-meter-long auxiliary inclined shaft, cross-seam tunnels at various depths, a centralized control system, camera monitoring, and automatic mine gas warning. The mining technology is comprehensively invested in, including mechanized longwall mining, self-propelled rigs, cutting machines, and a mobile hydraulic frame support system.
Since the first coal mine operation in 2010, with a production of only 2,700 tons, the project has continuously maintained growth. In 2011-2012, production reached 10,000 tons. In 2013, the completion of the BNM 8-1 mine allowed the mine to enter a sustainable production cycle. From a milestone exceeding 1 million tons in 2014, production increased to 1.8 million tons in 2015 and maintained a level of 1.8-2.1 million tons during the 2016-2019 period. By 2024, production is expected to reach 2.42 million tons and officially reach 2.5 million tons by the end of 2025.
Mr. Ta Dang Dai, Director of Nam Mau Coal Company, said: "Achieving the designed capacity is of particular importance, affirming the efficiency of resource exploitation, ensuring stable employment for workers, while simultaneously improving safety, working conditions, and meeting environmental protection requirements. This achievement affirms the unit's management, operational, and technological mastery capabilities, making a positive contribution to the goal of ensuring national energy security."
Another highlight is the fully mechanized longwall mining system, which is scheduled to be operational from October 2025. In the fourth quarter of 2025 alone, the longwall mining system extracted over 100,000 tons of coal, exceeding its design capacity and achieving a productivity 4.5 times higher than traditional drilling and blasting technology. Around the same time, the +250 level ventilation station was also put into operation, contributing to improved working conditions and opening up new mining areas.
Advances in technology and mining conditions have directly contributed to the outstanding production and business results of Nam Mau Coal Company in 2025. In 2025, the company is expected to mine 2.76 million tons of raw coal, achieving 115.3% of the plan; excavate 35,700m of basic construction tunnels, reaching 117% of the plan; sell over 2.57 million tons of coal; achieve revenue of 4,188 billion VND and a profit of approximately 60 billion VND.
Entering 2026, the company aims to produce 2.7 million tons of raw coal, excavate over 32,000 meters of new tunnels, and consume 2.3 million tons of coal; the average income of employees is targeted to be maintained at 20.5-21.5 million VND/person/month. To achieve the 2026 goals, the unit will focus on implementing several key solutions. These include strengthening daily production management, ensuring sufficient manpower, materials, and equipment for tunnel excavation, mining, and transportation. Mechanization will continue to be promoted to improve productivity, optimize the transportation system, and tighten coal quality control. The unit will prioritize on-site inspections, improve ventilation and drainage efficiency, and enhance occupational safety and health training for workers. At the same time, focus on recruiting and retaining workers, especially furnace workers, by improving working conditions, strengthening welfare policies, and taking care of workers during Tet (Lunar New Year), in order to maintain a stable and high-quality workforce.
