About 1km from Phiêng Phàng village, there is a large landslide that has destroyed a section of the roadbed, with soil and rocks from the uphill slope spilling down and covering the remaining road surface.
Not far from the landslide site, flash floods buried the entire drainage culvert, and a section of the concrete roadbed broke, creating a deep cavity that made it impassable for vehicles.

Mr. Trieu Thanh Chu, from Phieng Phang village, said that heavy rain continued for many hours, causing the stream from the upstream to rush down, carrying large rocks that blocked the drainage ditches, and damaging the road surface in many places. The villagers are working with the authorities to repair the damage so that traffic can resume as soon as possible.
On the morning of June 30th, Thuong Minh commune mobilized excavators, trucks, and local manpower to clear the landslide and excavate additional sections of the embankment to create a temporary passage for vehicles.
Ms. Ma Thi Thuong Oanh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Thuong Minh commune ( Thai Nguyen province), said: Phieng Phang village is a tourist destination of the commune, boasting beautiful scenery and unique culture of the Dao ethnic group. Although the landslide occurred on the mountain far from the center, after the heavy rains damaged the road, the commune promptly mobilized resources to carry out temporary repairs. It is expected that the road will be reopened by noon today, allowing vehicles to travel. In the long term, the local authorities will study and allocate resources to completely resolve the issue, creating favorable conditions for people's travel and tourism activities.

In Thai Nguyen province, heavy rain from the night of June 29th to the early morning of June 30th caused some damage in mountainous communes, especially in the northern part of the province. Due to the prolonged heavy rain, the risk of flash floods and landslides remains high.
In light of this situation, the communes have requested local authorities to proactively monitor weather developments closely, review areas at risk of flash floods, landslides, and waterlogging; and prepare necessary forces and equipment to respond promptly when natural disasters occur.
Strengthen information and warnings to the public. Households living in areas along streams, at the foot of slopes, on hillsides, or in areas at risk of flash floods and landslides should proactively monitor the situation and prepare plans to evacuate people and property to safe places when required.
