
Livestock farmers in Nga An commune are stepping up hygiene and disinfection measures to prevent disease outbreaks.
Cumulatively, from June 30, 2025 to 6 PM on January 4, 2026, African swine fever outbreaks occurred in 10,141 households and 1,700 villages across 132 communes and wards, resulting in the forced culling of over 101,300 pigs, weighing more than 6,760 tons of live weight.
To control and prevent the spread and outbreak of the disease, the Party committees, authorities, functional agencies, and livestock farmers in the province have implemented comprehensive and decisive measures to prevent and control the epidemic. By January 25th, the African swine fever epidemic in the province had been brought under control, with no new outbreaks occurring, and the epidemic was declared over.
After the outbreak ends, to ensure that the disease does not re-emerge, localities will continue to monitor the disease, strengthen livestock management, and apply biosecurity measures in livestock farming...
According to the head of the Thanh Hoa Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, the control and declaration of the African swine fever outbreak in the province before Tet (Lunar New Year) is the result of the efforts of the agricultural sector and local authorities. Thanks to this, the restocking, expansion, buying, selling, transporting, and trading of pork in the province have returned to normal according to regulations, meeting the increased demand for food during the 2026 Lunar New Year.
