At the meeting, representatives from telecommunications and postal units: MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation, Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), Viettel Can Tho - a branch of the Military Telecommunications and Industry Group (Viettel), and Vietnam Post Corporation reported on some of their unit's achievements and the results of implementing tasks agreed upon in cooperation with the city. They also introduced their strengths and proposed key solutions and tasks for implementing digital transformation in the city in the coming period.
MobiFone proposes several solutions.
The Head of the Department of Finance presented a summary report on the budget allocation for implementing science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation tasks in the past period; and also proposed several contents related to digital transformation within the unit.
Viettel Can Tho proposes 18 key breakthrough tasks.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the city emphasized that science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation are not only inevitable trends but also one of the three strategic breakthroughs that are decisive for the rapid and sustainable development of the city in the coming period.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested that departments and agencies urgently review and propose a list of digital transformation tasks and projects under their management, ensuring practicality, feasibility, and alignment with real needs. For tasks that can be implemented immediately, proactive action should be taken without delay; for large and complex tasks, specific plans and projects with clear timelines should be developed. The Department of Science and Technology is designated as the central coordinating body for proposals from departments and agencies. Based on this, it will review tasks that can be implemented immediately and advise the City People's Committee to report to the City Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation. The Department of Finance is tasked with advising the City People's Committee on allocating budget for science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation activities in accordance with regulations.
