Now, as the administrative name "Phan Thiet City" comes to an end to make way for a new organizational model, the name may change, but the glorious traditions and precious values of Phan Thiet City will forever endure in the minds and actions of every official, civil servant, and citizen of Phan Thiet City.
Attending the ceremony on behalf of the province were: Mr. Dang Hong Sy - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Nguyen Minh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. On behalf of Phan Thiet City were: Mr. Pham Van Nam - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee; Mr. Phan Nguyen Hoang Tan - Chairman of the City People's Committee. Also present were members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; leaders of the City People's Committee, departments and units. The ceremony was also attended by former leaders of Phan Thiet City from various periods.
At the ceremony, Comrade Pham Van Nam – Secretary of the City Party Committee – shared that the Party Committee and people of the city have had a proud 78-year journey of formation and development. This long and arduous journey has also been glorious, a culmination of patriotism, aspirations for progress, and the unwavering spirit of unity and dedication of countless generations of cadres, Party members, and citizens of the city. The peaceful land beside the poetic Ca Ty River has written many glorious chapters in history, and Phan Thiet today is changing day by day; not only thanks to the diligent hands of the people, but also to the tireless leadership and dedication of the city's cadres, Party members, and civil servants. These are the people who silently contributed brick by brick to the solid foundation of a modern and compassionate city. He expressed his gratitude for the silent efforts and passionate hearts that have dedicated their lives to their homeland, Phan Thiet – a city beautiful not only for its scenery but also for its people, a friendly and compassionate Phan Thiet.
The City Party Secretary also informed that by June 30, 2025, the city will end the operation of district-level administrative units and organize a two-tiered local government with seven new wards and communes: Phan Thiet, Binh Thuan, Phu Thuy, Mui Ne, Tien Thanh, Ham Thang, and Tuyen Quang. He expressed hope that these new wards and communes will continue to uphold their glorious traditions, spirit of unity, and trust in the will, determination, intelligence, and faith of the Phan Thiet Party Committee to achieve even greater successes. They should apply advanced and modern scientific and technological achievements; ensure social welfare; and preserve and promote the traditional local cultural identity to contribute to building a new Lam Dong province. “This is not just the responsibility of an individual or an organization, but of the entire community to create a sustainable development environment for future generations, and to join the whole country in steadily advancing towards socialism,” City Party Secretary Pham Van Nam emphasized.
At the ceremony, current city leaders expressed their gratitude to former leaders of Phan Thiet City from various periods, showing appreciation and respect for their contributions to their hometown. Simultaneously, city leaders also presented awards to organizations and units that have made significant contributions to Phan Thiet City over the years.
