Regarding the irregularities in the grading results of the 10th grade entrance exam in Thai Binh province as reported by Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, on July 30, Chief Inspector of Thai Binh province Tran Trung Dung signed Decision No. 551/QD-TTr, inspecting the implementation of policies, laws and assigned tasks and powers to the Department of Education and Training, the Director of the Department of Education and Training and related organizations and individuals in organizing the 10th grade entrance exam for high school in the 2024-2025 school year in Thai Binh province.
According to the above decision, the inspection period is 20 working days from the date of announcement of the inspection decision.
Also according to the decision, the Chief Inspector of Thai Binh province decided to establish an Inspection Team, consisting of 11 officers, led by Mr. Pham Cong Dich, Deputy Chief Inspector of Thai Binh province.
Among the 11 participants in the Delegation, there are 7 officers from departments and units under the Thai Binh Provincial Inspectorate, 2 officers from the Provincial Police, and 2 officers from the Provincial Department of Information and Communications.
The Inspection Team is responsible for developing and organizing the implementation of an inspection plan according to the contents of the decision.
Previously, regarding the incident, on the morning of July 30, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province sent a document to the Provincial Inspectorate, the Provincial Police, the Provincial Department of Home Affairs, and the Provincial Department of Information and Communications. In the document, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province said that it had received petitions from citizens and public opinion reflecting on irregularities in the exam scores in the 2024-2025 school year 10th grade entrance exam in Thai Binh province.
Accordingly, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh province requested the Provincial Inspectorate to conduct an unscheduled inspection of the implementation of policies, laws, tasks and powers assigned to the Departmentof Education and Training, the Director of the Department of Education and Training and related organizations and individuals in organizing the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year in Thai Binh province.
Request the Provincial Police and the Provincial Department of Information and Communications to send officers and civil servants with sufficient capacity, qualifications and conditions to participate in the inspection.
In particular, the Chairman of the Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Home Affairs to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to advise the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to consider and decide to temporarily suspend the Director of the Provincial Department of Education and Training to serve the inspection activities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Regarding the content of considering the temporary suspension of the Director of the Department of Education and Training of the province, on the morning of July 31, informing the press, the leader of the Department of Home Affairs of Thai Binh province said that this matter must wait for the approval of the Standing Committee of the Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee.
Previously, Dai Doan Ket Newspaper reported that recently, public opinion in Thai Binh province has been noisy surrounding the grading results of the 10th grade entrance exam in the province, school year 2024 - 2025, both in the first results and the re-grading results.
In mid-June 2024, when the results of the exam were announced by Thai Binh province, many parents, teachers, and students taking the exam in the province expressed surprise, saying that the scores did not accurately reflect the test results of the candidates. Many cases then filed applications for re-evaluation of the exam.
On July 16, when the results of the re-examination of the exam were announced, public opinion in the province was again in an uproar over the fact that the scores of the subjects, especially Math and Literature, were very different from the previously marked scores. Some citizens submitted petitions to the responsible agencies, expressing their disagreement with the marking of the exam in the province.
According to the people's feedback and petition sent to the responsible agencies, there are cases such as: candidate number 2604xx had a Math exam score of 3.75, after the re-examination, the score skyrocketed to 9.5.
Candidate number 2604xx had a Literature score of 4 points. After being re-examined, the score skyrocketed to 7.5 points.
Candidate number 2700xx won second prize in Math in the Thai Binh provincial excellent student exam, but in the recent exam, he only got 5.5 points for this subject. After being re-evaluated, his score increased to 9.5 points...
