| The Tan Thanh commune delegation met with reconnaissance soldier Do Xuan Ngo, who made the video "The Story of the Wartime Era." |
Implementing the "Stories from the War Era" project, launched by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , the Standing Committee of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union has directed its branches to regularly hold meetings and talks with historical witnesses, creating a rich source of materials for propaganda work. To date, the entire province has produced 550 documentaries and short videos and uploaded them to the website http://cauchuyenlichsu.vn, ranking 11th nationwide in terms of the number of products. Mr. Hoang The Hanh, Deputy Secretary of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union, said that the "Stories from the War Era" project is being implemented synchronously at all branches of the Youth Union and is creating a positive impact. Through these conversations, the Provincial Youth Union not only aims to educate about traditions but also encourages Youth Union members and young people to proactively learn about history, improve their skills in propaganda, and tell historical stories in forms suitable for the digital age.
At the Tan Thanh Commune Youth Union, Mr. Nguyen Van Hiep, the Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, said that the unit had produced four video clips recording the story of reconnaissance soldier Do Xuan Ngo - who directly participated in the fighting on the Southern Liberation Front during the Central Highlands Campaign in April 1975, along with the story of the Route 9 - Khe Sanh Campaign by veteran Nguyen Dinh Bang. Each story vividly recreates the fierce years of fighting, the courageous spirit, and the silent sacrifices of previous generations. "Listening to the veterans' stories, we feel like we are reliving the atmosphere of the battlefield of the past. This helps the Youth Union members and young people appreciate the peaceful life today even more, feel more proud of the national traditions, and have the motivation to strive and train to be worthy of the sacrifices of our forefathers," Mr. Hiep shared.
After each meeting, historical stories are recorded and edited into videos and short documentaries by youth union members and posted on digital platforms. This method not only helps preserve precious historical memories but also helps history spread more widely and reach a larger audience of young people. As one of the youth union members who regularly watches the "Stories from the War" videos, Ms. Tran Thi Mai, a youth union member from Hung An commune, shared: "Previously, I mainly learned about history through books, and sometimes found it difficult to remember. But when watching the veterans tell their stories directly, I felt more clearly the brutality of war and the spirit of sacrifice of the previous generation. Those stories moved me deeply and made me appreciate the peaceful life we have today even more."
Veteran Nguyen Dinh Bang from Tan Thanh commune emotionally shared: "Recounting war stories to the younger generation is both a joy and a responsibility for those who have experienced war. He hopes that through these authentic stories, young people will better understand the value of peace, and thus live with ideals and responsibility towards themselves, their families, and society."
Through simple yet profound stories, the "Stories of the Fiery Era" project is daily igniting the flame of tradition, nurturing revolutionary ideals, and inspiring the desire to contribute among Tuyen Quang's youth union members, helping to preserve and promote the precious historical values of the nation in today's era.
