Based on the admission scores of previous years, the number of students admitted through each method in recent years, the trends in program selection, the results of the TSA exam, the high school graduation exam, and the 2024 enrollment quota, the model predicting the admission scores for programs at Hanoi University of Science and Technology based on the 2024 exam scores yields the following results:

Accordingly, in 2024, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's training programs have the highest projected admission scores in the field of Information Technology, specifically for the following majors: Computer Science (IT1), Computer Engineering (IT2), and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IT-E10). In the context of Vietnam's accelerated digital transformation and the application of information and communication technology in the country's industrialization and modernization process, the demand for human resources in the Information Technology sector is increasing, resulting in a high demand for labor. The projected admission scores for this group of majors have consistently been among the highest at Hanoi University of Science and Technology in recent years.

According to the forecast table, the lowest cut-off scores based on the high school graduation exam results are in the range of 20 - 22.75 points. The majors in this group are Environmental Engineering (EV1), Resource and Environmental Management (EV2), Materials Science and Engineering (MS-E3), and Textile Technology (TX1). The predicted cut-off scores for these majors in 2024 show a slight increase of 0.75 points compared to the 2023 forecast.

Quality assurance threshold

For admission based on high school graduation exam scores, the minimum admission score for registering nguyện vọng (preferences) on the Ministry of Education and Training 's system is 20 points on a 30-point scale ; for admission based on the Thinking Skills Assessment Test (TSA) score, the minimum admission score is 50 points on a 100-point scale . These admission scores apply to all training programs at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The method for calculating admission scores for each type of score is described as follows:

Admission score based on high school graduation exam results = Score based on subject combination + Priority points (if any)

Admission score based on the National University Entrance Examination = TSA exam score + Priority points (converted to (100 points) + Bonus points (if any)

Applicants should also note the foreign language requirements when applying to programs taught in English, English language majors, and international joint training programs (see details in the Admissions Plan).

In 2024, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will recruit 9,260 students through three methods: Talent-based admission (~20%); Admission based on the results of a thinking skills assessment test (~30%); and Admission based on the 2024 high school graduation exam scores (~50%).
