Strengthening people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and France.

(GLO) - On the afternoon of July 9th, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-France Friendship Association jointly organized a meeting to commemorate the 236th anniversary of the National Day of the French Republic (July 14, 1789 - July 14, 2025), with the participation of numerous delegates, scientists, and French friends working and researching in Quy Nhon.

Over the years, the Vietnam-France Friendship Association has closely coordinated with the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) to organize many practical activities, most notably the annual event "Meeting on the occasion of French National Day" in the former Quy Nhon City.

This is where French scholars, scientists , and intellectuals gather within the framework of international conferences at ICISE – a vibrant symbol of academic cooperation and cultural exchange.

Notably, in March 2025, representatives from the French Embassy also visited Quy Nhon (formerly) to attend the 6th National Innovation Startup Forum, organized by the Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the National Startup Association.

Speaking at the meeting, Professor René Mege, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 3rd International Conference on Biomechanics: From Basic Research to Applications (held at ICISE from July 7-11), expressed his admiration for Quy Nhon – a beautiful and friendly city. He also noted that the provincial leadership always gives special priority to science and education.

According to Mr. Le Cong Nhuong, Chairman of the Vietnam-France Friendship Association, in the context of Binh Dinh and Gia Lai officially merging into the (new) Gia Lai province from July 1st, the regional cooperation space has been expanded, creating a more favorable foundation to promote multi-field international cooperation.
