In his congratulatory remarks, Mr. Nguyen Muoi, Chairman of the Vietnam-Czech Republic Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that Vietnam and Czechoslovakia - now the Czech Republic - have a long-standing and excellent traditional friendship, tested through time and historical changes; built and developed on the basis of trust, respect, and mutual assistance, diligently nurtured by generations of leaders and people of both countries over the past 75 years.
The Vietnamese people will always remember the invaluable support and assistance, both material and spiritual, of the former Czechoslovakia and the present-day Czech Republic in the struggle for national liberation as well as in the process of defending and building the Fatherland. The Czech Republic has trained many Vietnamese intellectuals in various fields. Many of them have held important positions in state and government agencies.

2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the upgrading to a Strategic Partnership, opening a new chapter in bilateral relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic. Vietnam has become the Czech Republic's largest trading partner in ASEAN. Investment cooperation between the two countries faces new prospects with the ratification and implementation of the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) in the near future, especially in areas where the Czech Republic has strengths and Vietnam has high demand, such as renewable energy, supporting industries, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment.
The Vietnamese community of nearly 100,000 people in the Czech Republic forms a bond between the two nations, integrating deeply into local society and has been recognized as the 14th ethnic minority of the Czech Republic. This is a valuable asset, contributing to the development of the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.
The leaders of the Vietnam-Czech Republic Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City expressed their gratitude to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Vietnam and the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Ho Chi Minh City for their support and assistance in all activities of the Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Czech Republic Friendship Association, enabling them to fulfill their mission and function as a bridge of friendship between the people of Ho Chi Minh City and the Czech Republic; and actively contributing to the development of traditional friendship and friendly cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.

On behalf of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Vietnam, Mr. Ngo Hong Chuyen, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Ho Chi Minh City, thanked the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations for organizing this meaningful meeting, which demonstrates the solidarity and friendship between the people of Ho Chi Minh City and the people of the Czech Republic. In 2025, Vietnam and the Czech Republic will upgrade their relationship to a Strategic Partnership with many new areas of cooperation, marking an important milestone reflecting the development and deepening of bilateral relations.
Appreciating the potential for cooperation between the two countries, Mr. Ngo Hong Chuyen reiterated the statement of Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala during his meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in January 2025 in Prague: "The Czech Republic has no closer relationship with any other Asian country than Vietnam. Our relationship is developing successfully and the intensity of contact at many levels is growing stronger."
The Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Ho Chi Minh City stated that the relationship between the Czech Republic and Vietnam has been elevated to a new strategic level in many areas such as culture, tourism, trade, and investment, bringing practical benefits to the people of both countries.
