The iPhone 16 generation will be a major breakthrough.

According to PhoneArena , this was stated by member Unknown21 (also known as @URedditor) on X, who said: "After the iPhone 15 series was announced, users may be disappointed that they lacked revolutionary features. To be frank, they were just mediocre and not worth it. Instead, the iPhone 16 series is worth watching."

The iPhone 16 series is expected to bring many significant changes next year.

Recent reports suggest that the standard iPhone 15 models will offer some exciting improvements this year, including the addition of Dynamic Island and a stacked 48MP sensor for the wide-angle camera. They will also integrate the 4nm A16 Bionic chip found in the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro models will feature a new titanium frame and be equipped with a 3nm A17 Bionic chip. Apple is also expected to increase RAM capacity on the new Pro devices up to 8GB, depending on the phone's storage capacity. For the first time in history, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will also have a periscope lens, increasing the phone's optical zoom capability from 3x to 6x.

All four iPhone 15 models will also have increased battery capacity and will feature a new USB-C port for charging and data transfer at the bottom of the device. This will replace the proprietary Lightning port introduced in 2012 on the iPhone 5, which replaced the cumbersome 30-pin connector that Apple used on its first four generations of iPhones.

But the iPhone 16 launching next year will be truly revolutionary, especially for those who prefer the high-end iPhone line. Bloomberg leak expert Mark Gurman previously stated that the iPhone 16 Ultra launching next year will push the boundaries significantly between the Pro and top-of-the-line models. And @URedditor suggests that Apple is "experimenting with different things," meaning there's something even more promising ahead.

Previous reports indicated that the iPhone 16 Ultra would come with a larger 6.9-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro would have a 6.3-inch screen, up from 6.2 inches. The larger screen size of the iPhone 16 Pro would also allow Apple to add a periscope lens to both high-end models next year. Not to mention, solid-state volume controls could also be implemented for the first time on high-end iPhone models next year.

For those on a budget, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are rumored to return to a vertical camera layout on the back, a design Apple hasn't used since the iPhone 12.
