World sports are buzzing during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Unlike in Vietnam, where many activities take a break to make way for the Lunar New Year holiday, the world of sports continues its vibrant rhythm.

In the boxing ring, the return of former champion Marco Huck is noteworthy. The last major fight for this former light heavyweight icon took place nine years ago in the 2017-2018 World Boxing Super Series.

At 41 years old, fighter Marco Huck will make his comeback at the Diazslan Fight Night event in Halle, Germany, on February 14th (the 27th day of the 12th lunar month). His opponent will be Vaclav Pejsar, a Czech fighter with nearly 12 years of experience.

Meanwhile, in the US, all eyes are on the heavyweight bout between Efe Ajagba and Charles Martin, taking place on February 16th (the 29th day of the 12th lunar month) at Zuffa Boxing 3. Ajagba needs a win to reaffirm his position after his draw with Martin Bakole in May 2025, while former world champion Charles Martin has one last chance to return to the ring after a long hiatus.

In tennis, Carlos Alcaraz has decided to skip the ATP 500 Rotterdam tournament, where he currently dominates, to participate in the Qatar Open, which starts on February 16th. There, he will face his rival Jannik Sinner – a player with a psychological advantage and a strong desire to win points after a three-month suspension from the previous season. Additionally, 38-year-old star Novak Djokovic is also expected to compete in the tournament in Doha.

Top-tier European football will feature a series of exciting matches during the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse).

On February 18th and 19th, the first leg of the 2025-2026 Champions League play-offs will take place. The highlight will be the highly anticipated rematch between Real Madrid and Benfica on the morning of the second day of the Lunar New Year. "Los Blancos" are determined to settle the score in the final qualifying round match, while the Portuguese side are confident, having won 3 out of the last 4 encounters between the two teams.

In the English Premier League, in addition to the usual weekend matches, Arsenal will travel to Molineux to face Wolves on February 19th (the third day of the Lunar New Year) in a rescheduled match from round 31. In Asia, Vietnamese fans are particularly looking forward to the rematch between Hanoi Police FC and Tampines Rovers on the evening of February 18th (the second day of the Lunar New Year).
