Land clearance for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway is progressing well, and the local authorities are also expediting the process of allowing residents to choose resettlement land so they can settle down soon.
According to the Dong Nai Provincial Land Development Center, tomorrow (February 20th), an additional 165 households in Phuoc Tan ward, Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province will participate in a lottery for resettlement related to the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway (phase 1), the section passing through Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province.
Leaders of Bien Hoa City and relevant units have set up a task force to go door-to-door to persuade residents to hand over land for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.
The households participating in this lottery will be relocated to a resettlement area of nearly 50 hectares in Phuoc Tan ward. Construction of this resettlement area is expected to begin in March. Allowing residents to participate in the resettlement lottery early will also help facilitate the land clearance process for the project.
According to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, the resettlement area is currently undergoing the design phase for construction and compensation procedures.
Previously, on November 12, 2024, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province approved the project to build infrastructure for a resettlement area of nearly 50 hectares in Phuoc Tan ward, mainly to serve the resettlement needs of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project (phase 1).
This resettlement area provides 1,066 plots for a population of 4,248 people and 4 high-rise residential blocks for a population of 3,752 people. The total capacity is approximately 8,000 people. The project has a total investment of over 1.117 billion VND from the provincial budget.
The progress of the highway project passing through Phuoc Tan ward is improving.
The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway construction project (phase 1), the section passing through Bien Hoa city, has a length of 6.2km, a total land area of 59.5ha to be acquired, and more than 1,500 households will be affected.
To date, the land handed over for the project section passing through Phuoc Tan and Tam Phuoc wards is nearly 44.5 hectares, reaching almost 75% of the land area to be acquired. The total length of each section eligible for construction has been handed over, totaling 4.68/6.2 km, equivalent to 75.5% of the total length of the route through the area.
The remaining land is occupied by 666 households. Most of these households bought and sold land using handwritten agreements; they built houses illegally and are therefore ineligible for resettlement.
In January 2025, the Dong Nai Provincial Land Development Center also coordinated with the People's Committee of Phuoc Tan Ward and the People's Committee of Tam Phuoc Ward to organize a resettlement lottery for more than 80 cases.
Currently, authorities are continuing to review and approve resettlement for affected households. Those whose houses have been demolished but do not meet the criteria for resettlement are being prioritized for purchasing social housing.
In addition, to accelerate land clearance, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai province, is currently implementing a 10-day campaign to persuade and encourage residents to hand over their land for the project. With 6 teams, on average, officials have successfully persuaded 20-30 households per day to hand over their land for the project.
