Further evidence incriminates Dani Alves

In Spain, security cameras at the Sutton nightclub captured footage of a 23-year-old woman breaking down in tears and suffering a knee injury on the night she accused Dani Alves of sexual assault.

According to the victim's testimony, Alves forced her to sit on him, slapped her, pushed her to the floor, and forced her to have sex – which she actively resisted – in the VIP restroom of the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona on the evening of December 30th. She was then taken to a hospital clinic in Barcelona, where she underwent biological evidence testing.

The Catalan news site Diari ARA obtained this detailed video footage. According to it, after entering the restroom together, Alves came out first, and the girl emerged shortly after, immediately accusing the Brazilian defender of "rape." She approached her cousin and said it was time to leave the nightclub.

But before leaving the house, the 23-year-old woman burst into tears and repeatedly pointed to her knee – where the injury had been confirmed in a medical report. Diari ARA cited expert sources saying that knee pain is a common injury in sexual assault cases.

"The security camera at Sutton captured the scene perfectly. The girl straightened her legs and touched her knees as she looked at her cousin. Then they hugged, and she cried non-stop the whole time," said Diari ARA .

The source also revealed that a crucial moment was captured by security cameras. According to the footage, while the 23-year-old woman had her back turned, Alves grabbed her hand and touched her genitals. The victim then pushed Alves' hand away. The Brazilian defender also touched her buttocks on another occasion, but she again pushed Alves' hand away.

Alves was arrested at the Mossos d'Esquadra de Les Corts police station in Barcelona on the morning of January 20th on charges of sexually assaulting a young woman on December 30th, 2022. The former Barca defender spent three days and nights in Brians 1 prison before being transferred to Brians 2, where most of the inmates are convicted of sexual assault.

In late February, the 39-year-old defender had his bail application rejected by a Spanish court and could face one to two years in prison until his case goes to trial. If convicted, the former Barca and Juventus player could receive a prison sentence of four to 12 years.

Following his arrest, Alves' wife, model Joana Sanz, filed for divorce. According to the television program El programa de Ana Rosa, Joana's reason for wanting a divorce was not because Alves was arrested on sexual assault charges, but because the Brazilian defender admitted to infidelity. The Spanish model also moved out of her Barcelona home – at Alves's request – to Madrid and may have started a new relationship with a businessman.
