In implementing the health insurance policy, the 2nd Division (Military Region 5) has successfully prepared and processed applications for health insurance cards for officers, soldiers, and their dependents in accordance with regulations; contributing to building a strong support system and fostering confidence among soldiers to ensure peace of mind and successfully complete all assigned tasks.
Private Nguyen Van Truong's family, a soldier in Platoon 7, Company 3, Battalion 17, is in extremely difficult circumstances. His mother suffers from heart disease, requiring approximately 2 million VND per month for hospital treatment, and his younger sibling is still in school, making their situation very challenging. Since enlisting, according to the regulations of the Health Insurance Law, both parents of soldiers have been issued health insurance cards, which has helped alleviate some of the burden of monthly medication and hospital fees for his mother. Private Nguyen Van Truong shared: “Receiving my parents' health insurance cards made me very happy, and I immediately sent them to my family. This not only helps my family reduce their difficulties but also gives me more peace of mind to focus on my work.”

We have learned that the agencies and units in the 2nd Division have proactively done a good job of disseminating information and educating soldiers and their families about the meaning and role of health insurance. For new recruits, from the very first days of enlistment, all soldiers are introduced to the regulations, policies, and benefits enjoyed by non-commissioned officers and soldiers during their service, as well as the benefits for soldiers and their families when participating in health insurance. Many good models and initiatives in propaganda and education through internal radio broadcasts, using banners and slogans about health insurance; integrating education on the meaning and role of health insurance into political education; organizing youth forums and seminars... have contributed to guiding and raising the awareness of soldiers about the position, role, and significance of health insurance for soldiers and their families.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Long Vong, Deputy Commander of the 2nd Division, stated that to effectively implement policies for military personnel and their families, the Division's Party Committee and command regularly lead and direct relevant agencies and grassroots units to effectively implement the guidelines of the Ministry of National Defense's Social Insurance agency. This includes, in particular, the steps of checking and verifying information, preparing declarations, compiling lists for issuance, receiving, and handing over health insurance cards, all conducted meticulously to prevent errors or omissions. For new recruits, training battalions assign officers to guide them in filling out health insurance declarations and verifying their specific information.
From the time of application to the time the soldier and their family receive their health insurance card, it takes approximately 15 to 30 days. Furthermore, when soldiers request assistance regarding their health insurance card, the unit dispatches responsible officers to visit them, provide support with procedures, and ensure the rights and benefits of the soldiers and their family members are protected. The effective implementation of the health insurance policy within the unit has contributed to giving each soldier more confidence and motivation to overcome difficulties, work with peace of mind, and be ready to accept and successfully complete all assigned tasks.
