Practical care for workers' lives

The art program of singing for workers was held at the Workers' Festival - Thank you Labor Day which took place on April 12 and 13.

The Pho Yen City Labor Federation (LFF) is managing 182 grassroots unions, with more than 26,000 workers. In order to innovate the performance of its representative function, care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, the city's LFF has focused on organizing grassroots-oriented activities.

Specifically: Increase contact with union members and workers at workplaces and boarding houses to grasp their aspirations, lives and incomes; organize union meals, attend shift meals with workers at some enterprises; mobilize, negotiate and reach agreements with enterprises and employers to not owe wages or insurance, ensure social welfare regimes for workers...

In particular, trade unions at all levels in the city have also strengthened supervision, resolved and recommended solutions to pressing issues of union members and workers; promoted democracy through organizing conferences of cadres, workers, civil servants and employees; negotiated and signed collective labor agreements...

In the period of 2021-2024 alone, trade unions at all levels in Pho Yen City organized 844 peer-to-peer inspections, coordinated with functional agencies to organize 132 inspections and supervisions on labor law implementation, resolved 7 complaints and responded to 129 opinions of union members and employees; 72 grassroots trade unions of enterprises organized nearly 540 dialogues at the workplace...

Through dialogues, inspections and supervisions, violations have been promptly detected and recommendations for handling, legal policy improvements have been proposed, difficulties and concerns have been promptly resolved, and the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers have been ensured.

Representatives of the leaders of Pho Yen City Labor Federation attended a shift meal with workers and laborers at Bao Lam Garment Joint Stock Company, headquartered in Tien Phong ward.

As one of the units that do well in workplace dialogue, Hansol Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. has arranged more than 50 suggestion boxes in convenient locations, helping workers to contribute their opinions and recommendations. Every week, the mailboxes are opened and the Company's leaders will have a direct dialogue with workers at a suitable time. With about 9,000 workers working, the Company's Trade Union has also established channels for information exchange with the unit's Board of Directors, ensuring that the rights and policies for workers are implemented in the most complete way.

According to Mr. Vu Hai Bac, Chairman of the Labor Federation of Pho Yen City, one of the activities that bears the mark of the union is the effective implementation of activities to care for and help union members and workers in difficult circumstances, through organizing programs such as: "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Sharing", "Workers' Festival - Thanking Workers"...

From 2021 to now, the City Labor Federation has coordinated to present over 5,500 gifts to workers, civil servants, and laborers in difficult circumstances with a total value of over 3 billion VND; donated over 4,300 bus tickets for workers to return home for Tet, worth nearly 1.2 billion VND; helped over 125 union members borrow capital to develop the economy and create jobs from the Provincial Labor Federation's capital support fund with an amount of nearly 4 billion VND; supported the construction of 12 Trade Union Shelters, with a total value of over 1 billion VND... - Mr. Vu Hai Bac

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, a worker at Mani Hanoi Co., Ltd., shared: Given my family's difficult circumstances, in 2023, I received more than 70 million VND from the Provincial Federation of Labor and the Federation of Labor of Pho Yen City to build a new house. During my work, I also regularly received attention, encouragement, and support from the Company's leaders and colleagues, helping my family life gradually stabilize.

Along with the implementation of policies related to regimes, working environment, labor protection... the emulation movement "Good workers, Creative workers" among cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers has also been effectively deployed by trade unions at all levels in the city.

Thereby encouraging workers to actively apply new technology in labor and production, helping to complete tasks well, improve productivity, quality and work efficiency. In the period of 2021-2025, the whole city has had over 7,650 initiatives applied in practice, with a value of over 50 billion VND.

It can be affirmed that the work of representing, caring for, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers and implementing patriotic emulation movements has been carried out synchronously and effectively by trade unions at all levels in Pho Yen City. Thereby creating the mark of the trade union in the ranks of workers, civil servants, laborers and the whole society.

In the coming time, the City Labor Federation will continue to innovate and improve the quality of emulation movements and campaigns; promptly discover and replicate good models and new ways of doing things, improve the quality of emulation and reward work... Thereby promoting the strength to build an increasingly strong trade union organization, and develop the economy and society in a civilized and modern direction...
