Switching off lights in response to Earth Hour is a practical action to raise public awareness about sustainable energy use, contributing to the common effort to protect the planet.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has sent a document to ministries, central agencies and organizations; People's Committees of provinces and centrally-administered cities; embassies and international organizations in Vietnam providing guidance on organizing activities to celebrate World Water Day, World Meteorological Day, and the Earth Hour campaign in 2025.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requests that agencies, organizations, and individuals participate in the Earth Hour campaign worldwide by "Turning off lights and unnecessary electrical appliances from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM on Saturday, March 22nd." Simultaneously, maintain habits of efficient and economical energy use, linked to the conservation of energy resources in industrial production, trade and services, transportation, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and household consumption; balance greenhouse gas emission reduction with the goal of maximizing the transition to renewable energy.

The Noi Bai International Airport Authority will also switch off lights and reduce electricity consumption during Earth Hour.

Last year, Noi Bai International Airport implemented various technical measures in the operation and exploitation of equipment to ensure flight operations and passenger services, aiming to reduce electricity consumption. As a result, it saved 614,466 kWh of electricity – equivalent to approximately 1.8 billion VND.

Noi Bai International Airport has replaced thousands of energy-consuming fluorescent and compact fluorescent lamps with LED lights in areas such as Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and the airfield. The upgrade to the LED lighting system at Terminal 2 alone has resulted in savings of 326,469 kWh per year.

The baggage conveyor systems and air conditioning systems are programmed to optimize operating time and minimize unnecessary energy consumption. The airport has also updated its Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) software, resulting in savings of 104,768 kWh per year.

Noi Bai International Airport has also improved its chiller cooling system in the terminal, saving 54,043 kWh/year. Light sensors and timer switches have been installed to adjust public lighting, advertising, and outdoor decorations according to different times of the day and seasons.

Offices at the International Airport also limit the use of high-power electrical equipment during peak hours and turn off unnecessary devices after working hours. They utilize natural light and ventilation, minimizing the use of air conditioning when not absolutely necessary. Air conditioning temperatures are maintained at 26 degrees Celsius or higher, and air conditioners are turned off 30 minutes before the end of the workday.

The Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) is also implementing many practical activities to raise community awareness about efficient energy use and environmental protection.

At EVNNPC, promotional activities in response to Earth Hour have been strongly implemented through various channels: The Corporation has displayed banners and posters at its headquarters at 20 Tran Nguyen Han Street, Ly Thai To Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, as well as at member power companies, affiliated power companies, and many customer service points; actively promoting the event on its official Fanpage and Website, posting articles, images, and events to support Earth Hour, aiming to raise awareness and encourage participation from a large number of employees and the community.

EVNNPC also encouraged its affiliated units to actively participate in activities in response to Earth Hour, spreading the message of energy saving and environmental protection through practical programs and meaningful activities such as: Cycling to raise community awareness about electricity saving; Reducing plastic waste - For a green environment, encouraging the reduction of single-use plastic items; Saving electricity - Protecting resources, applying measures to use electricity efficiently in work and daily life…

A large number of employees from affiliated units actively participated in the online competition "Learning about energy saving in response to Earth Hour 2025," which took place from March 8th to March 28th, 2025.

EVNNPC encourages its employees to actively participate in the online competition "Learning about Energy Saving," with the goal of spreading awareness of safe and economical electricity use. The Corporation also encourages its employees to participate in the Earth Hour 2025 running event, which will be held online (from March 8th to March 31st, 2025).

Meanwhile, many units within the Vietnam Electricity Group have actively responded to this year's Earth Hour with meaningful and practical activities.

Specifically, Binh Duong Power Company (Southern Power Corporation) coordinated with the Binh Duong Provincial Youth Union and other units to organize a bicycle parade through the main streets of Thu Dau Mot City to promote and raise awareness about the Earth Hour campaign;
