During this year's dry season, Tay Ninh province has implemented forest fire prevention and control measures early on. Authorities have developed specific plans and deployed personnel to key areas to prevent forest fires. Public awareness campaigns on fire prevention and control have also been intensified through various methods to raise community awareness of forest protection.

Notably, in the first three months of 2026, Tay Ninh province experienced only one minor forest fire, causing no serious damage, thanks to proactive fire prevention efforts and close coordination among relevant agencies. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the implemented fire prevention measures.

To protect forest resources and prevent violations of forestry laws, the Management Board of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area has decided to install checkpoints and strictly inspect people and vehicles entering and exiting the forest area from April 15, 2026. According to the announcement, all people and vehicles arriving at the checkpoints must stop and present valid documents to the authorities for inspection, except in emergency cases.

Bringing weapons, explosives, flammable chemicals, tools for hunting wild animals, and engaging in illegal logging will be strictly prohibited. Groups permitted to enter and exit the forest include forest rangers, police, military personnel, militia, officials and staff of the Management Board, provincial delegations, investors, businesses, and contractors implementing projects in the tourist area.

The announcement also stipulates that priority vehicles such as fire trucks, ambulances, and rescue vehicles are permitted to circulate in emergency situations.

Forest protection efforts in Tay Ninh province focus not only on fire prevention and control but also on the sustainable protection and development of forest resources. According to the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, the province's forest area currently exceeds 85,328 hectares, of which special-use forests account for 31,903 hectares, protection forests for 29,846 hectares, and production forests for 23,577 hectares.

In the first quarter of 2026, Tay Ninh province planted 97,284 scattered trees, contributing to increased forest cover and improved environmental landscape. In addition, the exploitation of production forests was strictly managed, with an exploited area of over 287 hectares, a timber yield of over 15,087 m³ and 1,613 ster of firewood, contributing to increased income for local people.

The province also continues to tighten inspection and handling of forestry violations. To date, functional agencies have detected and handled 24 violations, confiscating more than 1,300 m³ of dry timber and thousands of wild animals, with a total fine and revenue collected for the state budget exceeding 520 million VND.

In 2026, Tay Ninh province aims to plant nearly 169,000 scattered trees in areas such as transportation routes, government offices, schools, residential areas, and along canals and waterways. The main tree species will include Dipterocarpus, Shorea, Dalbergia, Dalbergia tonkinensis, Dalbergia cochinchinensis, Dalbergia cochinchinensis, Lagerstroemia, Dalbergia cochinchinensis, Acacia mangium, and Eucalyptus. The goal of this plan is not only to maintain green cover and improve the ecological environment but also to mitigate natural disasters, adapt to climate change, and create a green, clean, and beautiful landscape for the locality.

Tay Ninh province is committed to continuing to implement comprehensive solutions for forest protection, combined with developing sustainable livelihoods for the people, aiming for the goal of modern, efficient, and sustainable forestry development.
