The electronic toll collection (ETC) system follows a model of "multi-lane free-flow ETC entry (no barriers), single-lane ETC exit (with barriers), and no manual single-stop toll lane (MTC)".
The toll rates for the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay section range from 1,300 - 1,950 - 2,600 - 3,250 - 5,200 VND/km; for the Mai Son - National Highway 45, National Highway 45 - Nghi Son, Nghi Son - Dien Chau, and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet sections, the rates range from 900 - 1,350 - 1,800 - 2,250 - 3,600 VND/km.
To help ensure safe and smooth toll collection operations, the Vietnam Road Administration requests vehicle owners to ensure that terminal tags are affixed to their vehicles and that cashless payment methods have sufficient balance when traveling on expressways.
Vehicle owners must strictly adhere to road signage and instructions from authorities when passing through toll stations; they must also strictly comply with vehicle load limits. Automatic vehicle weighing systems have been installed at highway entrances. Overloaded vehicles will be flagged by the system and denied access to the highway.
The organization of toll collection on expressways where the State is the representative owner and directly manages and operates is seamlessly and synchronously connected with expressway sections operated and collected by other entities: Vietnam Expressway Investment and Development Corporation (VEC), investors, and BOT enterprises.
During the initial operational phase, the entire system's KPIs will be evaluated to identify and rectify any technical issues that arise. The Vietnam Road Administration has established a 24/7 emergency response team to handle any unforeseen situations.
