At the golden chrysanthemum garden of Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc in Sa Dec ward ( Dong Thap province), there are always many visitors coming to visit and place orders. Mr. Phuc was busy adjusting the chrysanthemum trellis and shared: "This year's festival is large-scale, with many new activities, so we farmers have prepared very carefully. Each flower pot is not only for sale, but also represents the brand of Sa Dec flower village. Just thinking about our products being admired by customers from near and far makes me excited."

Not only Mr. Phuc’s family, but thousands of flower growers in the village are also busy. The beds of marigolds, dahlias, carnations, Taiwanese chrysanthemums… are blooming in the sun, meticulously cared for to bloom on time.
In addition to traditional flowers, many gardeners have boldly invested in new varieties. Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Han, owner of an orchid garden, said she is experimenting with planting imported orchid varieties to participate in the display of 1,000 flower and ornamental plant varieties at the Festival.
“I hope this is an opportunity to introduce unique products and expand connections with businesses and tourists,” Ms. Han confided.
The bustling atmosphere also spread to the streets, parks, and squares. People and local authorities decorated the landscape, erected flower gates, and planted more ornamental trees. The whole flower village seemed to be wearing a new coat, more brilliant than ever.
Journalist Thai Cuong - Vietnam Business Magazine is discussing ornamental flower growing with farmers in Sa Dec flower village.
According to Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan - Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival will take place from December 27, 2025 to January 4, 2026, expected to welcome about 500,000 visitors. The festival space is expanded throughout Sa Dec ward with a series of special activities: N7 flower street, displaying 1,000 varieties of flowers and ornamental plants, flower market, space recreating the old Sa Dec market, hot air balloons, mapping projection, live show "A hundred years of flower village fragrance" ...
Mr. Vo Minh Tam, a long-time bonsai farmer in the century-old flower village of Sa Dec, excitedly said: “This is a rare occasion for the ornamental flower growing profession to be honored. I have prepared more than 50 bonsai mai trees, hoping to sell my products and promote my skills. The more visitors come, the happier the farmers are.”

The festival is not only a flower festival, but also a community festival. Hundreds of households participate in the flower gate and flower garden competition; young people are excited about the creative space "Blooming Dream"; women show off their figures in the "Flower Ao Dai" parade. Cultural and culinary activities, OCOP fair, music night, countdown program to welcome the new year 2026... promise to create a colorful festival picture, keeping tourists staying longer in Sa Dec.
In particular, this year the government has focused on urban beautification, building new flower roads, and upgrading Sa Dec Park into a unique flower and ornamental space. This is not only a preparation for the Festival, but also a long-term investment for Sa Dec to continue to affirm its position as the “flower capital of the West”.
Saying goodbye to the farmers who are working hard under the sun, we can see that the Festival is not only a cultural and tourist event, but also a source of pride and motivation for the whole community. In each flower pot and bonsai branch, there is sweat, expectation and love for the job of the simple people.
And when the flowers bloom at the end of December, Sa Dec will certainly welcome a brilliant festival season, leaving in the hearts of visitors sweet memories of a hospitable land of Pink Lotus, bustling with spring colors.
